And. Something. Actually. Happened.

What will anyone remember of this match?

Instantly forgettable.

True. I will never forget last night as long as I live. Wasn't a great match though.

I shall probably forget this one sooner.

But it's keeping me watching until the end, unlike last night, which had my attention for 25 mins. I couldn't bring myself to watch the rest of the game.

I don't think we've heard Messi's name more than 3 times in the last hour.

People who actually follow football and World Cups especially will remember this.

They remember many games like this.

It's been a great game.

Slighty disappointing reffing. If you let both sides play like that, it makes scoring notably harder.

I hope Robben realises he doesn't have to dive to get his pel tonight.

Saved!

There'll still be less goals tonight even with pels!

I follow football a lot and appreciate a good nil niler.

But this wasn't good football

It certainly wasn't a greatly taken penalty.

Nice.

I had 3 years in London as a student (mid 90s). A couple of mates used to live near Woodside Park.

My wife used to keep horses in Barnet. She knows the place like the back of her hand.

Van Gaals trickery in last game might have cost this shootout.

In this shootout Cillessen knew he was the worse choice for a shootout. The Dutch players knew it. The Argentinian players knew it.

Setting them up to fail.

That's what I was thinking watching the shootout too. You've added onto the already insane pressure of PK's the thought in the back of the keepers mind that he's the second choice for them

I'd argue that he made the right moves in the last game, thus it was his substitution pattern in this game that cost him.

Well he did.

Then again, that's also on Van Gaal that he was even out there. His subs did nothing, and Krul watched this from the bench.

Do we get gifs of the Dutch crying now? Glad that I don't have to watch Robben in the final.

Brazilians cry because they feel they are destined to win. I think at this point the Dutch fans feel they're destined to lose.

... and yes. See you later Robben, although hopefully not.

Man, Cillessen sucks on penalties. Should've saved two of those.

The RVP for Hunteelar sub is on LVG. Should've saved it for Krul.

Yeah, I shouldn't pick on the Dutch. Good people, but obnoxious football team.
