Gio's able to do everything decently, but his reputation isn't of a heavy hitter like Engelland.

Engelland isn't a big hitter either. He just fights and plays terrible hockey.

I've watched nearly every Penguins game in the last 2 years, he's not wonderful to watch.

Patrick Sieloff didn’t bother to conceal his disappointment.

Trotting into WinSport for the Flames development camp’s first on-ice session, what did the young defender discover hanging in his dressing-room stall?

A powder-blue jersey.

“I was like, ‘Uh, what’s going on here?’ Immediately, it was, ‘I don’t like this.’ “

Knowing that everyone else would be wearing red or white or black, Sieloff grasped the significance of the sweater’s colour — no one would be allowed to hit him. And, more devastating to him, he wouldn’t be able to pound people during one-on-one drills.

No matter.

Gritting his teeth, he says he understands.

“It makes total sense — they’re looking after me,” said Sieloff, 20. “They care about me and that’s what they’re showing.”

Love his attitude.
