I thought last year Jankowski looked really good out there? Obviously we're even more stacked in the prospect base than last year, but I'm sure he'll fit in.

written off isn't the right word. Folks, including myself, have been talking about that Bennet/Monahan, or Bennet/Monahan/Backlund Center depth that we can foresee a few years from now. I didn't even consider how Jankowski could ideally be in the mix 2+ years from now.

true nobodies written him off, its just so many names have become the item of the day since his draft day that the group no longer requires him to be a #1 center in the NHL.
I'm guessing this is how Detroit and Jersey fans felt 10 years ago
