That seems to suggest that a small forward will make the big team this year.

Bob McKenzie @TSNBobMcKenzie 39s
NSH not qualifying Michael Del Zotto. Throw another log on the UFA fire.

Well if a face puncher can play half your games, get you 9 points and do other things too, they're already ahead.

Push strong for Del Zotto and Niskanen, there's nothing to lose.

No argument, just funny how people get so into the hype over draft picks.

Galiardi is a guy that was easy to improve upon, no point clogging up our roster with him and having zero spots available for kids to win. Bollig is better than him. Reinhart, Granlund and Gaudreau would all be better options than him.
Byron is more interesting but obviously we had way too many tiny forwards last year (Hudler, Cammy, Byron) and Gaudreau in the system. We can only handle having more than two of those, espcially with guys like Baertschi who aren't huge either.
I think we all liked Byron but going forward with Hudler, Gaudreau and Baertschi we couldn't really have a guy like Byron as well. Just too small in the big Pacific division.

Yep, I think it needs at least 3 year for an initial assessment
but closer to 5 years to see it's NHL impact

We don't want Doug Murray's extracurricular behaviour anywhere near our young guys.

Confusion over Byron suggests it was a last minute decision. Saves contract for someone else? Cammy?

Not a great day to be a tiny guy. Byron, Schroeder, Conacher all let go.

Wow would I love to see Ryan White on the Flames, but it just doesn't seem like there is a place for him given the sudden glutton of bottom 6 quality centres.

What I would do is contact teams that are tight up against the cap. Say the Bruins want to sign Iginla, but can only afford 3 million.
We sign Iggy for 6 million and trade him to Boston with half the $ on a 1 year deal for picks/prospects.
That way you get to acquire assets and you get to get closer to the floor without having to add any people to the roster.
