I like Raymond but I think I would rather give up that roster spot to Granlund or Reinhart.

Neither of those proposals comes close to getting Johansen, IMO. I would guess something like 2015 1st + Backlund + Baertschi/Gaudreau.
But he isn't going to be traded, so it's pretty moot.
Edit: and to be clear, I would not do that. The Flames are not in a position yet to be giving up on future assets for a player like Johansen - they don't have the wingers to play with him yet anyway.
Let's wait a couple years and see what we've got - THEN we can exchange assets for missing pieces

Everyone has their own opinion and I respect that.
I guess the way I look at it:
Johansson will probably be around a ~70-80 point player next season
Gaudreau has a lot of question marks and in a few years he might get 100+ points a year or he might be in the KHL because his size couldn't do it.
Don't get me wrong, I wish Gaudreau becomes the player you described but I would rather take an already proven player at the NHL level who is only 1 year older than Gaudreau.

Uhhhh no. Again they wouldn't deal Johansen to move up to the top 3 this year. He's their upcoming franchise centre. They value him similarly to how we value Monahan or Bennett. No way we'd deal either of those guys for the package you're suggesting and CBJ is not moving Johansen. He's arguably their most untouchable player so all these proposals are silly.

If they piss off Johansen, just like Colorado has done with O'Reilly...there may be appetite for a swap?

Yeah not a chance that is a pretty awful proposal. What team in their right kind would trade a 21 year old big body C who scored 30+ goals last season for 2 smaller players that have had injury concerns. Backlund is 25 and never hit 20 goals or 40pts in a season yet he aldes right into johanssens spot? Sven can't crack a roster that finishes bottom 4 and when he went to the minors struggled for the most part
Your offer screams of homerism. Columbus is not trading their best young player since Nash for our second rate stuff. Columbus is better off giving him $6M x 8 years than take your mediocre package

I know we have two tough guys already but I would be shocked if the Flames weren't one of the 9 teams in on Engelland. He can play the wing on your 4th line or be your #6 defenseman.

Hahaha what?
Would you trade a 21 year old Monahan coming off a 30 goal - 60 point season for a B level prospect, someone who replaces his minutes and 2 round pick? Yeah I guess not. Ryan Johansen isn't going anywhere. If their GM hung up on Florida for the 1st overall pick then why would he want that package from us or anyone else. That proposal is laughable.

@DarrenDreger: The Flames were aggressive pre-draft. Offered to take on Mike Ribeiro for 12th pick (Ribeiro wouldn't waive). Ultimately, he was bought out.

Yuk. Ribiero as a Flame?
Edit: Well, we know now that they're going to be active in the over age player department. All bets are off IMO on how they choose to shape this roster for the coming season.

I want either Engelland or Douglas Murray for the 6th/7th spot. Flames need that size and toughness on the back end. I don't care how slow they are, we aren't making the playoffs anyways.

We would have just bought out Ribero to save ARZ the cap money, or Treliving still thought he could be redeemed.
Perlini ended up going 12th overall to Arizona but my guess would be that we would have then used 12 to try and move up to get Ritchie.

I would have made that deal. I sure hope GM's are learning their lessons of handing out way too many NMC's for non-elite players.

that would have been sweet.
trade him , buy him out, and get another first rounder in the process.

Well these deals and offers didn't pan out. Safe to say the value on the picks are far more valuable than the money they're keeping. Cool for swinging for the fences and all but maybe they should have aimed lower and upgraded their COL pick or the PITT pick to take on the salary..
FYI, I'd have been very happy with Ward and their third for Pitts pick. seems lke a right move.
