Byron was qualified.

Edit: There appears to be some confusion. Flames website saying no, Steinberg saying yes.

Canucks are pursuing Iginla apparently

http://www.thescore.com/nhl/news/529762

Also going after Ryan Miller

That would be fantastic if the Canucks grabbed those two on multi year deals and kept striving for the dream with the Sedin twins for the next 3 or 4 years.
As much as I'd like to see the yuks keep spinning their wheels the thought of Iggy playing for them would be the equivalent of finding out the first woman you slept with is your biological mother who gave you up for adoption because she was 13... just wrong every way imaginable.

You are implying that I said something that I didn't say.

If the difference is people make fun of the Oilers because their management volunteers the information and it isn't just leaks to the media, then fine. I disagree but you're entitled to your opinion. I think it looks bad either way.
Fair enough - the reference to bragging came from EOI. (I'll ignore the term 'leaking')

Still wasn't a response to EOI's question (re bragging) though

5'9" Schroeder, we just let Byron go. Who by all accounts plays a better style of hockey for the Flames. Good luck Schroeder, but you wont be coming to CGY..

they have I think 18m in cap space and only need to fill 4 spots

It sounds like they want to sign Miller and two top 6 forwards

they also need to trade a d man as well, lots of people think Tanev could be moved for a young forward still

I hope he does well, seems like a good kid, just ran in to injury issues here

I think if he works on his defensive game he could end up as a solid 3rd line winger

It's up there. Feaster has to many to chose from though it's hard to pick just one. It's like asking what's the worst song on the radio in the last year.

Wow, the fail has been utterly spectacular from Linden / Benning to date and this would keep that train rolling along...

Aaron Ward @aaronward_nhl
There are 8-10 teams interested in UFA David Legwand. Likes of NYI, FLA, BUFF, TOR. #TSN

I remember that draft, some people were losing their minds that the Flames traded down and passed over Schroeder.

High risk high reward given his diminuitive stature, didn't pan out but he seems like a serviceable depth player. Probably more useful to have on your team than a facepuncher.

Pretty much telling you how shallow the FA pool is this year.

McKenzie called it a steal of a pick, McGuire said the Canucks were adding "instant offense"

Think Legwand was fine, just didn't fit in with Detroit post trade but 40 points in 62 games in Nashville was pretty good.

He is a good short term fix at 2nd/3rd line center for a team lacking depth at center ice.

Weiss was the EXTREME disappointment for the Red Wings.

Size matters. Yet another of example of how a highly skilled small player doesn't necessarily translate his offense. And this is why most of these highly skilled small kids fall in the draft.

For the record I think Gaudreau will be one of those exceptional cases who does translate.

Leaving Galiardi off of the roster along with Byron could indicate they have a couple RW lined up maybe?

Setoguchi and Mueller? Okay okay, that's my hope at least, would love those two on the Flames.
