Either or it wouldn't really have mattered as it would have been a win either way just to get the 12th pick for giving up nothing in return.

Keep in mind we might center depth but you can never have enough of it. Sam Bennett can easily be moved to the wing down the road.
As for the 1st round pick, you need to give up value to get value and I think the Flames will be picking in the 10-15 range in 2016. Maybe I am just a huge fan of Johansen because he is big, proven and young.

If we were picking in the 10-15 range then Id definitely make the deal but that is far from a guarantee. Either way no way are the blue Jackets trading their top player for a pick two years from now. It makes no sense. Trade would never happen.

If you wanted me to make a counter proposal, I'd give the Jackets Backlund + Sven + a 2015 2nd (and maybe another plus). Not sure the Jackets would do it, but they already have having enough trouble signing Johanssen a decent contract. I'd easily give him a 6 x 6 on the Flames.

There isn't one GM in the league who would take Gaudreau over Johansen. Gaudreau is an amazing prospect for us but man do we fall in love with players on this board.

No still waiting on the list of qualified RFA's. Flames seem to be one the of the last teams to release a list.

This is absurd. There are ppl who won't trade gaudreau straight up for johansen? Jeez! Or include him in proposals?
We laught at oilers but this is beyond ridicolous.

@AAVickers: Believe the deadline for NHL teams to submit qualifying offers to RFA's is 5 p.m. ET, a little over three hours away.

It's pretty much moot because there is no way Columbus would do any of those trades.

I would rather not hear about deals that didn't work out. Didn't we used to make fun of the Oilers for always leaking what they always "almost" pull off?

Yes. From their management.
Do you have a source where Treviling bragged about bold moves almost completed?

i agree. big difference when it is the GM/management talking up all the moves that didn't get done, rather than the media sharing rumours.

I wouldnt trade johnny hockey for Sidney Crosby, Geno Malkin, or OV combined!
I would ride that golden stick of Johnny's until he died. I would then make a hand puppet out of him, tape a stick to his hand and still watch him score goals! He's that good! #flaming #gayprideweek #GFG !!!

Either way, I don' think it paints a great picture no matter who is leaking the information.
It also doesn't say that he was answering questions when he said it.
Not really important anyway. I just don't think the leaks are good, and there seem to be a lot (could as easily be from the other teams though).
