Sean had a very high opinion of Bennett, not sure if they know each other personally though.

The highlights.

Still sinking in for me ...

Can't believe it went down exactly like most of us figuered (and hoped). I would have been happy with Reinhart but I wanted Bennett more ... and drafting a D would have me worried about Flames patience for development.

How do you go from can't find a center for 20 years to two studs down the middle in 370 days?

Is it Monahan/Bennett or Bennett/Monahan in 5 years (realize it could be 2)

Imagine walking into the flames dressing room vs the oilers. What a difference that could make on the development of a player. :-)

Happy for Bennett, and happy for the flames!

Just got off work and holy crap, I can't even express my excitement. Getting Bennett is ineffable.

Monahan, Bennett and maybe even Jankowski down the spine. Looking awfully brighter in Flames land.

We are going to see some seriously interesting Flames/Oilers games over the next ten years.

The Flames have restocked so quickly, ... was sure we'd be fodder for 5 years to their rising bunch.

Very similar to last year, trying to get myself pumped up for the Euro prospect that I figured the Flames would take, but secretly hoping the Canadian would fall. Easily the best 2 drafts I've ever seen as a Flames fan

This is the most excited I've been for a pre-season in a long time...

and we haven't even had free agency yet.

Wonder who's more excited to play with the other....Monahan or Bennett! Sounds like Monahan did a great job just like Gio to sell Bennett on Calgary.

Everything is just sunshine, daisies and rainbows.

Helps that the Flames seemed to have finally figured out how to draft past round one. With Gaudreau and Poirier looking like steals that would give the Flames a huge leg up on the Oilers who haven't been able to draft for crap past the central scouting consensus for first overall

Too bad Draisaitl had to go to the tar pits up north. Another waste of talent. Having a spark plug who was projected to go 1-3rd overall is a damn good consolation prize.

Welcome Bennett. I look forward to you skating circles around the German Gretzky for BOA's to come.

I love this pick, I honestly see him scoring 450 goals and 1,414 points!

You have to feel good about the forward group overall - lots of different types of players and lots of skills.

Need to get that D sorted out. But lots to be encouraged about.
