Even if you count the supporting cast, MJ, Dunca and Kobe lost a combined 3 times in the Finals. LBJ has already lost 3 times meaning 3 seasons where he's at his prime were for nothing. That's a lot of wear and tear and I think we've probably seen the best of LBJ.

I think this loss will have reprecution to LBJ's decision redux. He jumped ship to Miami knowing the formula at Cleveland didn't work. Same here this time, this Miami formula worked 50% of the time (2 win and 2 losses in the Finals) and that's just not good enough for him.

The scary thought is that if not for a miraculous Ray Allen 3, LBJ's final record could be an abysmal 1-4.

Yeah Jordan is easily the best of all time but people forget he had a pretty good supporting cast.

The Bulls without Jordan in 93-94 still finished 55-27 and had the 6th best record in the NBA.

I don't think any of Lebron's teams would put up a record like that if he decided to just take off for a year.

Jordan had good supporting casts, but LeBron has as well in Miami. Jordan never played with 2 other Hall of Fame offensive talents (Rodman made the HOF but obviously as a defensive player first) like LeBron did. Jordan also played in a more difficult era (both in terms of quality of opposition and how the game was played). LeBron is maybe the greatest athlete to ever play basketball, but he just doesn't seem to have the same drive to be a great basketball player as others did.

I mean it was a blowout when LeBron checked himself out last night with 6 minutes left, but down 20 with 6 minutes while very difficult isn't impossible. In fact Miami was up 15 with 6 minutes left against Dallas in 2011 and lost the game. I just don't think he has the fire like a Mike or a Kobe or even a Duncan.

Only by his choice - the Lakers would take him in half a second. I can't wait to see what Kevin Lowe errrr. Jimmy Buss' next move is.

Tim Duncan has opted into his contract option for next year, he'll be back for another go. LeBron meanwhile has officially opted out of his deal making him an unrestricted free agent, so let the fun begin in that regard.

Looks like Lebron James exercised the early termination on his contract clause so he'll be free agent this summer. Hmmm.. i wonder if he is cooking something to entice Carmelo Anthony to join together. Melo is also a free agent this summer.

LBJ opting out is a forgone conclusion. No way that he'll stay in Miami if both Wade and CB3 are opting in for $20M a piece. If they both opt in, then it's take my talent to Houston for LBJ.

I don't think Miami can pay the big 3 more than $40M-$45M combined and sign the neccessary players to complement them. That's $13M to $15M for each of the big 3.

As the best player in the league, LeBron owes nobody a pay cut, so even though he opted out he'll probably resign for similar money to what he's getting now, but for a longer term. Bosh and Wade on the other hand need to take, at least, 50% paycuts. They are both at $20 million per and really are not worth more than $10 million per anymore. Wade in particular should consider taking the midlevel exception and becoming a bench player. He's pretty much done physically as a full time player.

I can see LBJ taking $15M if Wade and CB3 will take a combined $20M. Realistically, I think Wade will take $10M and CB3 will take $15M and another $15M for LBJ for a total of $40M.

Do you think James will resign in Miami? I don't know a lot about the contracts in the NBA but by opting out of his contract he just doesn't get that option money. So he could essentially sign for less, allowing Miami to hopefully build some depth.

I think if Wade and CB3 take less, then LBJ will re-sign with Miami. He definately doesn't want to be seen as a mercenary and go to Houston. McHale is not an elite coach who might not be able to get him, DH and Harden to work.

I think LBJ sees that if the big 3 makes between $40M to $50M, then Riley can retool. LBj has a lot of side businesses that $10M here an there which is more like $5M after tax a year doesn't concern him at all.

LBJ opting out is posturing mostly, he wanted to see what Riley will do before he opts back in again.

LBJ might go back to Cleveland. They have some good young point guard (Kyrie Irving), some young center and also young forward. He will still be the highest paid player in that team and the team might contend for the championship sooner than later. Yep, i don't see him going back to Miami if Chris Bosh and Dwayne Wade are going to make more money. I like Wade but he's been injured way too many times and his body is not as the same level as back then. Chris Bosh I can't stand. He dissappeared in the playoffs especially the championship series against San Antonio. The guy was so scared driving to the net most of the time. Looks like Miami will be in a decline. Without Lebron on that team, they'll have a couple of overpaid players and some backup players.

I'll give Cleveland slightly better than a 0% with a 0.1% chance LeBron rejoins. Forget how good the team could be if you put LeBron there, and remember what an assclown Dan Gilbert was after LeBron left. If he wasn't so petty afterwards maybe LeBron goes back, but that bridge doesn't seem just burned, it was nuked.

LBJ will only sign with big market teams because he makes far more from endorsement than from salary. Dont' see him going back to Cleveland for this reason. My guess is LBJ will re-sign for 1 year with Miami. He has no better option than Miami at this point.

Lebron James is bigger than market at this point. Being in New York, LA or Miami won't make much of a difference to his deals than if he's in Cleveland. Coke, Nike, Samsung ... they don't care where he plays as long as he's still the best.

Here's the deal. He wants money, but with more money I'm going to guess he wants more women as well. Aside from LA which I don't think is possible for Lebron to go to, I think one of the NY area teams is where he's going to head to. I have no idea of the cap space either the Knicks or Nets have, but NY has so many things a guy like him would desire - women, nightlife, crazy houses, being among the "social elite", etc. One thing is for sure, and that's that Miami has more money to throw at Lowry if he wants to go there.
