What I don't understand is one getting upset, and throwing vulgar language because they didn't like what they read. As Bryzgalov said: "It's only a game." There's no reason to get bent out of shape over a simple Q&A or a video that doesn't show much about game. I wouldn't pass judgement on a game until I learn more about it, and actually got to play it to get a true impression.

At the same token, people shouldn't be disallowed to voice completely legitimate gripes with the game, especially in relation to how EA treats it's NHL franchise compared to it's other intellectual property and sports licenses.
The only reason I buy the EA NHL series is because there is literally no other hockey game on the market. I think for many, many fans, if there were an alternative, they would switch brand allegiance.
With steam getting into the console market, I can only hope they start developing generic sports franchises that don't have to deal with licensing agreements and pandering the way EA does.

Griping is one thing. Acting like they kicked your puppy is a whole other ball game

Personally I'd take a broken EA game vs a non-licensed hockey game. Playing as the flames in the dome I enjoy. Playing as Canadian City Team #4 in New City Rink #6 not so much.
I've been playing a ton of pre-licensed games on the nes/snes lately and forgot how much having actual teams made a difference.

What if you could just download user generated content that was more current than what EA releases?

If you're intending to make a replica version of professional leagues, I believe there are legal barriers that have prevented companies such as 2K from doing this.

unrelated question, but with everythign that has happened with EA and the NCAA over the past few years, is it safe to assume seeing US college leagues in the game basically impossible?
as this is an ea sports game related thread, i watched some madden 15 gameplay videos, it looks amazing! At one point, i noticed that during the pre-snap period, you can iterate thru all your receivers and get a real-time view on how the guy lined up to defend your receivers compare to the reciever in categories like speed. Such an awesome idea of being able to try to take advantage of a poor matchup. not sure if it was available in the last few maddens, but looks amazing.
I'd love for NHL to bring back the concept of the home team getting to pick their lines after seeing who the visitors put out there, to try to match lines or get their top players away from top defenders. It would add an especially interesting game inside a game during the playoffs over the course of a series.

^ the yellows seem off.
EA is a joke they can't even get yellow at the right hue. Will not buy.

You can tell just from their marketing materials so far the big push is authentic arenas and a much better looking crowd. I expect the gameplay to be largely the same.

My guess would be Subban, since that picture doesn't even look like Bergeron.

When are they going to release useful information, like game features? The slow release of screenshots is just annoying and provides zero insight into the game.

They already have.

Unless you mean more depth into those features.

I was watching an interview with a FIFA developer during e3 and they showed how all individual players will react differently to scenarios such as red cards and fouls. Then I watched the NHL interview and he basically said "new physics" and showed no example.
The zoomed in screen shots do nothing for me. I want to see the guts of the game, especially being "next gen". I want to know how different this will be compared to what we've been playing for years.

They're going to release a demo before the game comes out, and I imagine they'll start explaining more of the new features a little better in the near future.

If memory serves, they let features trickle out over the summer. It still doesn't come out for 2.5 months so I see why they'd rather have staggered announcements.

Did everyone else know that NHL 15 is $70?
Because that is new information for me.
