Terrible calls.
The 1st one was borderline so you can give the linesman some forgiveness, but the 2nd one couldn't be considered offside by any stretch of imagination.

Brutal start to the tournament by the officials
The 2nd one if it came off a Mexican head it would have been a great offside call. Those are the margins

all those bad calls might be a solution to football in the end... I say; keep them coming! (for now)
Maybe FIFA will finally open their eyes and allow video referrals or replays.
The pressure on a ref is just too much.
How far does it have to come?
I wouldn't be suprised if ref commits suicide one of these days.

But it didn't come off a Mexican head.
Those are the margins a professional linesman is there to see; and it wasn't that difficult.
The ref also could have overruled, and his view was much closer and obvious.

Soccer is better than any sport with video referrals or replays. I don't think that's an accident.
Also; I love watching a game from beginning to end in two hours.
