Ya, almost as hard as Lovren's body slam on Fred.

That could have been a penalty.

No ball, kick on the ankle and a slight push in the back.

Understandable that it wasn't though since the ref had a poor angle and clearly thought he got the ball since the corner went to Mexico.

To be fair: it's almost impossible for refs to see that.

Hallmarks of good defensemen: cheating without getting caught.

Line judge robbed the Mexicans of 2 legit goals glad to hear the panel saw it the same way. Such a shame especially in these weather conditions.

Is it me, or is that more offside calls in a half than you get in most games?

Depends a lot on the way teams play. Sometimes you see offsides every few minutes.

Terrible calls.
The 1st one was borderline so you can give the linesman some forgiveness, but the 2nd one couldn't be considered offside by any stretch of imagination.

Brutal start to the tournament by the officials

The 2nd one if it came off a Mexican head it would have been a great offside call. Those are the margins

all those bad calls might be a solution to football in the end... I say; keep them coming! (for now)
Maybe FIFA will finally open their eyes and allow video referrals or replays.

The pressure on a ref is just too much.
How far does it have to come?

I wouldn't be suprised if ref commits suicide one of these days.

I dont see how you can have video replay for fouls. No sport does that.

Offsides maybe...but even hockey doesnt replay offsides and thats a stationary blueline

But it didn't come off a Mexican head.
Those are the margins a professional linesman is there to see; and it wasn't that difficult.
The ref also could have overruled, and his view was much closer and obvious.

Soccer is better than any sport with video referrals or replays. I don't think that's an accident.

Also; I love watching a game from beginning to end in two hours.

1-0 Mexico! Nice save on the original shot, but Mexico has really been getting bodies forward all game, and it paid off.

Cameroon are so disorganized. I think this will be a trend for African teams in this world cup.
