Hard to say "I wasn't being an ass!" while being a total ass.
You get a hug too.

Screw it hugs for everyone I offend with my slightly off-vanilla internet opinion.

What purpose does this comment serve?

Congratulations. Most of you have managed to correctly list the cities in order of population, more or less.
Worded more politely it had merit I guess. But if you had actually read the thread you'd see that population was a starting point and then the idea was to move onto other factors, which people were already doing.

It was a lame, unnecessary comment. Not a huge deal, but it was just silly when the thread was clearly being participated in and progressing to include more than population.

Then Branigin'sLaw came in with an even stupider remark, saying the thread was just stupid, which is actually where the motivation for this gear grinder post came from.

It's all good, though. strombad had good advice to just ignore you guys, and I'll make sure to do so in the future.

I agree that ignoring posts that upset you is likely a good idea.

My nose grinds my gears.

Took a big hit to the face a couple of weeks ago in a rugby game and it poured like a hose, had to play the game with 2 homemade tampons up it.

Since then every little bump or strong wind starts it pouring again.

Bitchy women grind my gears. Coming off the golf course I noticed an attractive woman who was wearing some bright colourful clothing. I complimented her on what she wore and got the "you men are all the same comment" and no i'm already married. My response was..."Get a life! I was merely complimenting you on what you wore..If it makes you feel better, you look ugly in bright colours and should stick to black to match your personality!"

When did they starting charging for the gondola ride down Sulphur Mtn?? I was just there in May and no such charge existed. I guess on the plus side, it's not like the Grouse Grind where there isn't an alternate way back down.

I have never seen someone successfully deliver a clumsy burn in real life with any success.

Stories that didn't happen grind my gears.

cracked my galaxy note 3 glass. still works tho.

called a few places, they all want to charge over 300 dollars. so i looked online and replacement kits are sometimes as cheap as 8 bucks, it varies. so i called back one place and asked how much for just the labour. he said 10% off the 329. 270+dollars for a job that takes them, as they advertise themselves, sometimes as few as 20 mins.

I wouldn't bring them my toaster to fix it for a nickel. They might as well rob people when they come to pick up their phones. Jackals.

If it's that easy, then do it yourself. I'm not sure what's involved in this process, but sometimes the reason something can be done quickly and effectively, is because that person has spent a lot of time at it.

It's like telling a lawyer that it only took him 15 minutes to review a document and give you his opinion. It actually took him four years at undergrad, law school, and however many years he's been practicing law to read and study it. If you think something is that easy, or too expensive, do it yourself. I also don't know why you'd bring a toaster in for repair at a phone store. If they can do it for a nickel, that seems like a good deal.

If they are charging $300 for 20 minutes of work that is $900 per hour. Even a lawyer will blush at that charge rate.

That sounds like authorization for an extra 3 hours charge for "graphic cleanup services".

she probably got the same comment a dozen times which is why she said it. She might have even been joking with you

To me it's akin to how I view maintenance on my car. I bring it in, and they fix it. I don't enjoy spending money when I'm there, but if I want my car to run properly, I do it. I don't know who to fix it, nor do I want to, and I don't own any of the tools to change oil, rotate tires, fix a headlight, change brake pads, etc. It might be over priced, but they had to buy the capital equipment, hire the labour, advertise, etc. I don't get upset when I pay for a $25 for a steak in a restaurant that would be $10 for me to make at home.
