Just got back yesterday. The Linq project is really nice and the pub The Twisted Kilt has the best looking servers of anywhere. The whole area wasn't busy though, not sure how the High Roller is doing. O'Sheas could just be any pub now.

The Cromwell overall didn't seem much different, however the drink service for the players was great and it smelled like hot dogs in there. They have a pool on the roof, I kinda think Drais has moved up there to??? Never bothered to go up there but it seemed like it was now a pool club by day and dance club by night.

The Outlet malls have really run their course. Overall it didn't seem a busy this time as the last few trips. Traffic, malls, casino, and even the airport all felt less hectic.
It might just be the timing. A coworker was down there probably the week before you were and said it was crazy busy everywhere but most people were from California.

Vegas is usually quiet during the week until everyone from California drives in on the weekend.

I wish Las Vegas kept building the Theme resort hotels. I prefer them over the generic looking hotels they have built recently. Where is my Star Trek themed hotel on the strip?

Vegas is nuts(!!!) druing EDC week. I don't know if this is your first time in LV during EDC week but here are some tips I'd like to pass on from my experience last year.

A lot of these would apply even if you're not going to the festival and just happen to be there during that week (lol terrible choice).

- Don't leave anything up to chance. Everything is booked, everything is packed. I wouldn't expect to be able to do anything that is aimed at the party/younger crowd without it having purchased beforehand. This goes for all the hotels, limos, pool parties, clubs and any activities. We learned this the hard way. Sure you might get lucky, but don't plan on just being able to make many game time decisions.

- The first night of the festival will probably be an absolute disaster. Everything was a mess last year. Missed a lot of acts I wanted to see cause of this (ATB!!! I nearly cried). We waited 3 hours for the EDC shuttle from MGM. Once we got there, no one had a clue where to pick up tickets. We got dropped off on the wrong side of the track and once we finally got to the international will call it was just a crowd of thousands of people that didn't move for over an hour. I'm sure many people gave up and went home. We nearly did but we managed to fool the mentally challanged security staff (who beaked us for no reason) and got in using our shuttle passes. I can't imagine how mad I would be if I didn't get to go for the first night. So yeah. Plan ahead. Leave super early. When I go again, I'll be going at 6 pm the first day.

- THERE IS NO PHONE SERVICE AT THE TRACK. ZERO. YOU WILL NOT HAVE A PHONE DURING YOUR TIME AT THE FESTIVAL.

- Once inside, everything is a lot better. Water stations and bars are quick, the only problem is they're not really easy to get to from any of the main stages (Kinetic Field or Cosmic Meadow). When seperating to go to the washroom or for sustinance during a set, I'd recommend going with at least one other person from your group because the chances of you finding everyone in the same spot again in the crowd are 50/50 at best. The constant flow of people means your group seems to constantly move little by little and there's people EVERYWHERE. I'd highly recommend waiting until the end of a set to go abouts your business as there are a lot of things you can meet at once you leave the stage areas but almost nothing within the stage areas.

- Leave your gf's and wives at home. There are literally hot, young girls dressed in nothing but brightly colored lingere (if that) whereever you look during the days of EDC. A jealous girls nightmare.

- Try the Hot N Spicy McChickens at McDonalds. Once you do, remember that you have to eat something other than Hot N Spicy McChickens. It's hard but there are places that sell fruit cups and stuff. I'd mix those in amongst the new staple of your diet.

- If you're showing up on Thursday or Friday of EDC week, expect to wait up to an hour, if not longer, to check in.

- Prepare yourself for the most depressing flight of your life if you're leaving the Monday after EDC.

- Prepare yourself for the longest, most depressing shuttle rides of your life on the way back to the hotel from EDC.

- Prepare to see people who are on waaaaay too much of some seriously hardcore stuff regularly. Regardless of location on the strip. Try to ignore them. Don't be an ass to them, good chance you'll just make it worse.

I'm sure there are a lot of other things I should mention but these are the points that come to mind first. Sorry about the sloppy formatting of this post. Just spitting things out as they come to mind.

I have heard that the shuttles can take a while, hopefully they are more organized now that your shuttle pass has an assigned hotel.

It is a good time to go and it is easy to pack for. Just shorts and t shirts, plus the pools are great. It was in the 100's while we were just there and you barely realize it, if you are out walking the strip just pop inside some where for some air conditioning. There is zero humidity there. The best thing is going outside at night and it is warmer then the a/c you just left. If you are going golfing though, I would sugeest teeing off no later then 9:30.

Go to the official event page on FB and the EDC reddit page. You'll probably be able to find a ton on there. Just be careful.

They also did a ticket buy back last year after they released the line up and then re-released the tickets. I don't know if they're doing that again or already did it.

RE EDC - depending when you leave, if you want to save on the PITA shuttle ride, there are dozens of limos waiting ... I think I paid $100 last year to go from the track back to TI. Well worth it considering the bus sits there forever and then the ride itself is far from enjoyable.

I found that everyone on the shuttle is super depressed and tired except for one or two guys who are still lit up and yapping about the dumbest crap. Literally everyone else is silent but them.

It's also crazy how fast it gets hot once the sun comes up. 5 minutes after sunrise and it's scorching again. Night time is nice though.

Damn totally expected the opposite on the shuttle bus. Thought it would be filled with good times, even in the morning. Maybe that's for the better though since this old body of mine will probably shut off early too.

Thanks for the great tips though! Sounds like a few cp people will be there too!

I was there with a pretty big group so our shuttles on the way there were always fun just due to that alone. We made our fun lol. Overall the shuttles up were pretty fun though. Tons of excitement in the air.

The way back is like I said, pretty depressing. Everyone just wants to go to bed lol. The one back on the last day seemed a little more lively though. Maybe its cause we were chatting up some girls from Kamloops on the seats behind us. We were probably the annoying ones on that ride!

Sound slike this will help. Shuttles okayed to go through the Nellis Air Force base this year. Or you could always charter a helicopter.

They were able to go through the base last year I believe.

Honestly the way they went on the way back seemed a lot longer than it did going there.

In Vegas still....and you people coming down soon...be ready because it is brutally hot right now....near record highs since arriving. Supposed to hit 108f today. There is just no relief if you are outdoors til about 4am. But it's been just awesome. Going to see Meatloaf at planet Hollywood tonight, after reading the reviews I am looking forward to it. I have to say Fremont is even crazier than I remembered....so many characters.

The pool at the Flamingo is just unreal on the weekends. Hotties everywhere and it gets jumpin early.

I have to say though I am disappointed in O' Shea's...just not the same but as rube said, the Linq is really cool on the whole.

As for gambling...I suck...really really bad. No Lady Luck at all this trip. A week is just way too long here I this weather, but been a great time none the less. Two more days of this heat before heading back, but I will pack in what I can as I won't be back til it's much cooler.

I am going to Vegas in two weeks and I was wondering if anyone has had the lunch buffets at either Bellagio, Wynn or Ceasers lately and which one is better? Thanks!
