Vegas is nuts(!!!) druing EDC week. I don't know if this is your first time in LV during EDC week but here are some tips I'd like to pass on from my experience last year.
A lot of these would apply even if you're not going to the festival and just happen to be there during that week (lol terrible choice).
- Don't leave anything up to chance. Everything is booked, everything is packed. I wouldn't expect to be able to do anything that is aimed at the party/younger crowd without it having purchased beforehand. This goes for all the hotels, limos, pool parties, clubs and any activities. We learned this the hard way. Sure you might get lucky, but don't plan on just being able to make many game time decisions.
- The first night of the festival will probably be an absolute disaster. Everything was a mess last year. Missed a lot of acts I wanted to see cause of this (ATB!!! I nearly cried). We waited 3 hours for the EDC shuttle from MGM. Once we got there, no one had a clue where to pick up tickets. We got dropped off on the wrong side of the track and once we finally got to the international will call it was just a crowd of thousands of people that didn't move for over an hour. I'm sure many people gave up and went home. We nearly did but we managed to fool the mentally challanged security staff (who beaked us for no reason) and got in using our shuttle passes. I can't imagine how mad I would be if I didn't get to go for the first night. So yeah. Plan ahead. Leave super early. When I go again, I'll be going at 6 pm the first day.

THERE IS NO PHONE SERVICE AT THE TRACK. ZERO. YOU WILL NOT HAVE A PHONE DURING YOUR TIME AT THE FESTIVAL.
- Once inside, everything is a lot better. Water stations and bars are quick, the only problem is they're not really easy to get to from any of the main stages (Kinetic Field or Cosmic Meadow). When seperating to go to the washroom or for sustinance during a set, I'd recommend going with at least one other person from your group because the chances of you finding everyone in the same spot again in the crowd are 50/50 at best. The constant flow of people means your group seems to constantly move little by little and there's people EVERYWHERE. I'd highly recommend waiting until the end of a set to go abouts your business as there are a lot of things you can meet at once you leave the stage areas but almost nothing within the stage areas.
- Leave your gf's and wives at home. There are literally hot, young girls dressed in nothing but brightly colored lingere (if that) whereever you look during the days of EDC. A jealous girls nightmare.
-
Try the Hot N Spicy McChickens at McDonalds. Once you do, remember that you have to eat something other than Hot N Spicy McChickens. It's hard but there are places that sell fruit cups and stuff. I'd mix those in amongst the new staple of your diet.
- If you're showing up on Thursday or Friday of EDC week, expect to wait up to an hour, if not longer, to check in.
- Prepare yourself for the most depressing flight of your life if you're leaving the Monday after EDC.
- Prepare yourself for the longest, most depressing shuttle rides of your life on the way back to the hotel from EDC.
- Prepare to see people who are on waaaaay too much of some seriously hardcore stuff regularly. Regardless of location on the strip. Try to ignore them. Don't be an ass to them, good chance you'll just make it worse.
I'm sure there are a lot of other things I should mention but these are the points that come to mind first. Sorry about the sloppy formatting of this post. Just spitting things out as they come to mind.
