I think that's a possibility. The Oilers have good long term D, Nurse, Schultz, Klefbom, Marincin and a few others. It's very possible that if Florida passes on EKblad than Buffalo will because they need scoring and Oilers because they need a big centre. It was rumoured that they wanted Monahan but they ended up with a defenceman, Nurse so this year they'll take the big centre they wanted. However I doubt FLorida passes on him.

After lots of discussion (and maybe many opinions changing), I would like to see a Reinhart/Bennett one again since the other one was so close.

It wouldn't have to be now, but maybe a day or two prior to draft day.

Bennett and Reinhart would be a very interesting poll now. Simply who do you prefer. As many posters jump back and forth everyday from the looks of it. Including myself.

Anybody that thinks that the Oilers would pass on Ekblad is nuts. Edmonton likes Draisatl so much I would assume for the reason that they know Ekblad isn't falling to them.

Not as nuts as you think... Just not likely.

The Oilers surprisingly have a decent defensive prospect system.

Not to derail the thread, but I was able to watch Nurse twice with the Barons this season. The kid's a stud. He's incredibly lanky, but he's such an efficient skater and isn't afraid to rush the puck. I hate to say it, but the Coilers have a good one in Nurse.

They for once made the right move and went with the BPA in that draft.

Additionally, it's amazing what happens when you don't rush players into the NHL.

I think it is too hard to do the 34th OA pick as so many players could be available. We just don't know who and when. Especially with this draft.

On who Edmonton would take:

Ekblad vs Draisaitl.

-Edmonton already drafted Nurse
-Klefbom coming up the ranks
-Have absolutely no center depth

I think it would be a close call. Based on who Edmonton drafts of the two, the other falls to the Flames.

Based on what? 2 more lists were updated today (FC and Craig Button) and both have Reinhart above Bennett along with almost every other ranking outside of Central Scouting.

Sadly, we arent getting Reinhart at #4.

I think it's more likely Reinhart slips to us than Bennett.

It's more of a gut feeling. But Bennett is being talked about as the big center that teams need. Regardless I don't see Bennett falling to the fourth pick.

I think any of the top four could drop to us but the least likely is Ekblad.
