I think we all agree that Healy is an idiot. Probably the only universal truth on CP.

I have a hypothesis that the more you play NHL 2012/13/14/10/etc on Xbox, the more likely you are to pout when hearing a play by play voice that differs from that in your game

You've clearly never played an NHL video game before.
If there's one thing everyone would have in common, it would be wanting anyone BUT the guys in the game.

I believe in the Pony Power

So according to Brunt on 960 this morning the 4 national PBP guys will be:
Bob Cole
Jim Hughson
Paul Romanuk
Dave Randorf
I think Randorf is the weakest of the lot - which means the Flames will probably get him. I really enjoy him as a host by as a PBP guy I think he's weak.
But that is a pretty good lineup. Impressed they convinced Romanuk to come back across the pond - they must've thrown a pretty big bag o' cash at him.

^^Those are the national guys are they not Jiri?
I thought the Flames would hire someone separate from those guys.

The worst dude. I remember the game this season where he was talking about how the Oilers should be able to "dominate" teams like Calgary and Minnesota, while they were 29th in the league. He just has no idea what he's talking about, but acts like everything he says is fact at the same time.

Yep, meaning the Flames regional team is still to be determined/announced.
Hopefully Rick Ball is selected, with a good colour companion. Would be neat if it was a former Flame as well. What's Bill Clement up to these days?

I'm crossing my fingers for Hrudey as colour.
Keep in mind folks to have some gratitude that whoever we are getting, at least we don't have to listen to Charlie Simmer sucking the life out of broadcasts anymore.

Love Bob Cole circa 1995. How sad is the state of play by play guys when he's still hanging in there?

'How is he still so good?' Is a better way to phrase that. Hope we hear him on more Flame broadcasts this year.

Not a bad team for Rogers but it won't mean anything if their overall production doesn't improve. I assume one of Romanuk or Randorf will end up focusing on the West and do most of the Flames national games.
Also, it will be great to find out who the Flames new regional team will be. I will try to be positive no matter what knowing they will at least be an improvement.

He's not though. It's an iconic voice, and style.
And I am still a big fan as a result... but it's time he moved along. Like Peter Maker.
Sad, but true

Simpson is better when he's with Cole, Brown, Lee, or anybody else. Hughson is better when he's with Galley. The microphone needs to be muted for Healy.
