Daughter crying because of sound? Cause a potentially harmful accident!
Remind me never to cross you.

Once Airport Trail is built to Stony Trail I am assuming that it would be quicker to take Stoney Trail than Deerfoot. And that would be definitely the case if you are trying to catch a flight on a weekday early evening, when Deerfoot is a parking lot from Memorial to Airdrie.

Lol. I kid, I kid. Well, about the rock to the face. He actually did make her cry. But that's not exactly a rock-to-the-face transgression.

Stoney - Country Hills Blvd is the way they've been advertising. Your way is unnecessarily long.

Drove through it eastbound then turned around and headed through westbound. Kids got a kick out of it. There was some weirdo protesting at the west end. His sign said something about goofy Nenshi and road to nowhere.

Took detours on my commutes to and from so I could go through the tunnel in both directions. Feels pretty badass to have something like that in the city now.

The single biggest thing for us in the deep south is that we may not really get any use for it now. It was built before the runway so that in 10-20 years when it is desperately needed; it is there. Depending on the various estimate, building it after the fact would have cost somewhere between double and quintuple the current cost. That is of course if YYC even allowed it at that point.
In a city where our greatest infrastructure challenges today are the lack of forward thinking decades ago, it's refreshing to see they got it right this time.

After driving through a couple of times today, it just feels so huge inside. Not necessarily the length, though it is long. The height and width are such that it hardly feels like a tunnel. There's certainly no sense of being in a tight, small space.

I'd consider Airport Trail exit - south on 60th Street to 80th Ave, west all the way to 36th, then north on 36th, and back onto Airport Trail through the tunnel. Distance wise, it's no further than taking Country Hills Blvd, and no more traffic lights. Country Hills Blvd is mostly under construction right now though.

Excellent. I've never actually been on that part of 60 St and I didn't know if it was a dirt road or what.

It's a nice two lane roadway between 68th Street / 96th Ave and 60th Street / 88th Ave.

The thing is, you don't even need to be going fast or breaking any speed laws. Just downshift so you're revving higher than usual. A Ferrari could be going 40, but if it was at 7000 RPM, it would be bonerific.

So I should have downshifted the ol'Volvo wagon and really let her purr in it yesterday?
Oh and you could totally fly a light single engine plane through that tunnel, now who will be the first to do that?
