He was invisible. It's really hard to see someone who is 5'6".

I fixed that for you. This is something that hasn't really ever happened before. Not like this.

You can see, on the gif it hits back of back skate.
The angle suggest it could not come directly off Johnny's stick.

Wasn't he like 137lbs when drafted as well?

Hmm, now I'm not so sure perhaps it goes directly of the stick to the back of the back skate.

I might argue Fleury as another good example. Though he played the game like he was a foot taller and 40lbs heavier.

I have stared at the gif for a while longer, and I'm still not convinced it hits the skate. It still looks to me like he banked it off the boards. Further, I have to wonder—if he was curling the puck behind him like that with a German defender right on his tail—where did he think that puck was going? He looks over his shoulder right to Abdelkader, so as to see that his "pass" connects precisely the way he intended.

Hilarious that we have the benefit of replays and repeated gifs of that Abdelkader pass and STILL it's hard to figure out how he did it.

I missed this game I'm just going by the gif on previous page and you can see it hits the back skate, looks like direct off the stick and back skate.

It actually looks like he used a behind the back "swooping" motion and put it between the Dmans legs.....I think.

I'm trying not to think this guy is the second coming of jesus, but WTF, he's putting up highlight reel goals every game.

Yeah. I'm pretty sure he's jesus.

I'm 100% sure the puck doesn't hit anything on the way through. There is a frame that shows the puck right between the defenders skates before it ends up in the net. Someone can probably pause it there.

If you're referring the defenders trailing skate (Right) then we are talking black magic... the state of mind to bank it off the skate to Abdelkader??? But I'm pretty sure he it was a straight pass through the skates.

Spectacular either way!

While I don't share the same confidence of say 100% I'm very close to believing you are 100% correct.

Laviolette had some nice praise for him too:

Quote:
"This is my first opportunity to work with Johnny. He has been an important player on this team and is very talented," Laviolette said. "He's an even better person. He displays such incredible talent and is such a smart player. That's why he's on the ice with two minutes left in the game."

It is crucial the puck hit someone's skate or somehow unintentionally bounced onto Abedelkader's stick.

If that was an intentional play, we are talking about some Faustian, supernatural, otherwordly, black magic, Cross-roads or voodoo type skill for Johnny Hockey and I shudder to think of the dues that will inevitably be collected on it! Hide your first borns!
