He just never stops moving and his passes are as good as any I have seen, right on the ticker every time.

I'm going to have to find some hd replays because those gifs don't even make sense, he's going one way, spinerama puck appears on other side of the net. The cross crease pass doesn't even seem like a thing, it looks faked.

I was worried about his size before the WC.
I'm not worried now. He's so quick, and has such good vision that people can't really hit him.
I'm more worried now that those natural gas heaters that go off when the flames score might drastically accelerate global warming around Calgary and I might not be able to ski next year.
I predict that if Cammalleri's not back next year that Johnny hockey will be our best forward by the end of next season. Unless Backlund or Monahan take further steps.
He's got a tool kit that no one else has in the organization. Hopefully they can team him with one or two larger forwards who can keep the opposition off his back.
He's crazy good. I also think Pourier will have an impact next year.
This off season should eb very interesting. I can not wait for next season.

So...Am I the only one who is still trying to figure out if he passed that directly to Abdelkader on the turnaround, or if he banked it off the boards and onto his stick?
Either way, it's an almost unrealistic, far-fetched play; the sort of thing I used to dream up doing as a kid, and then realising much, much later the defiance of reason and physical laws involved in making such a play.
In short: How the hell does he do that?

It looks like he passes it right back through the feet of the defender.
I'm not sure how his arms were able to do that ... but he did.
The kid is ridiculous, and if this was late 17th century New England, we'd be burning him at the stake for witchcraft.

Thought the exact same thing and then you notice the puck going between the defenders skates directly to Abdelkader.

Took me a while to notice that the puck hit the skate of the defender.

It doesn't look like it hit the skate, it looks like it goes right through. If it hit the back skate it would have gone back to the boards, if it hit the front skate it would have gone towards the corner.
It just somehow makes it through.

How glad are we as Flames fans that we gambled on this pip-squeak and burnt our 104th overall pick in 2011? Good god... In hind-sight, what a steal!
Amazing work behind the net on that gif... Spin, stick, kick, spin, bounce off net, spin... I'm surprised that German player didnt fall to his knees and retch up his breakfast.

I predict 700 goals and 1400 points!
Gotta feel bad for Flames management. They are trying so hard to manage expectations on the kid, yet here he is defying the laws of physics.

As Sherlock Holmes would say it, once you eliminate the obvious there is only one logical explanation. You are right on both accounts, elementary my dear Watson. It hits both skates, only logical explanation.

This was on NHL.com
He is a really good hockey player," Abdelkader told the IIHF website. "He finds the open areas on the ice and sees the ice so well. When he gets time and space on the ice he is dangerous. I think his game has gotten better as we've gone through the tournament here and his confidence has grown and he's played well because of it. He's deadly when he has the puck on his stick."

Teams tend to shy away from smurfs. Often with good reason, but every once in a while...

Off the rafters, off the scoreboard, off the second row seats, two bounces ... nothing but net.
