Probably; but it's always nice to dream about some garage invention that brings the big corporate players to their knees, right?

The real question is how this stick performs. Its a balance of weight, flex, and strength. The coating needs to perform as well as sticks without it
The test they are doing there appears to be a charpy test which tests fracture toughness. Not sure if that is the most valid test.

Back when I played serious hockey, I went through about 15-20 sticks a year, most not from breaking, but from getting too whippy, if that makes sense to anyone. Even if the stick doesn't just break, it will wear down. What I'm trying to get at is, to get this kind of durability, will the stick feel the same even after 3-4 games, will you get the same performance game after game?

Anyone ever buy one if these? I am really curious how they are, not a lot of reviews out there.

'Whippy' could be due to internal fractures

I remember the old easton aluminum shafts doing that but not carbon sticks.

Anyone give one of these a try yet? This product is very intriguing as some nights playing ball hockey I break multiple sticks in one night. This product seems like a great cost saving solution but hoping to get some more feedback from real customers.

I remember watching the creator pitch this on Dragon's Den and it looked amazing - IIRC, the creator already had a patent and was working with League officials to get this into the NHL. By the time he was on DD, he had already received calls from a few teams inquiring about the product.

I've got one of these. Feels good to me! I don't know how unbreakable it is, but it's a decent stick!
One thing I've noticed is that I have a couple of slices in the metal coating on the blade from when people have stepped on my stick. That might be its weakness.

That doesn't sound very safe. I am thinking slices that could cut you. Is that wrong?

Probably means (and I hope so, too) ridges or welds, as opposed to 'slices'.

What I mean is a cut in the surface of the stick. It's exactly like a cut through the paint layer on a normal carbon stick. Not dangerous at all.
Edit: remember, it's just a spray-on metal layer on top of the carbon, rather than a fully metal stick.

How much are they? Did you have to order away to get it?

I have one as well. They say its balanced properly but it most certainly is not.
I like the flex of it, I really dislike the curve but that was my choice.
I have the same issue as tknez16 where there is slices on the blade.
Overall, would I buy another one or recommend it to someone else? Probably not.

Yeah, it was a 4-6 week timeframe around Christmas. $275. I figure if it lasts longer than 2 sticks would normally, it's money in the bank.
As for Swayze11's balance comments... My hands aren't good enough to notice. Lol

Would you say the slices are mainly from skates? Like would this be a good stick for ball hockey purposes?

Cool thanks. My primary need is just durability. I'm not fussy at all about lie or balance, etc.

Agreed. I've taken many slashes and never noticed a mark from them.
For ball hockey, as long as you're on a smooth floor this makes sense.
