The secret material is actually microscopic bits of hair from Chuck Norris's beard.

That's actually a pretty dangerous weapon. What are the implications for high-sticking, slashing, etc.? And who volunteers to be the guinea pig for that test.

You can take a regular composite hockey stick and cave someone's skull in before it breaks.
Breakable doesn't mean it's going to do less damage

It'll be the same as before. How often do you see a high stick or a slash that had so much force that it snaps an undamaged stick.

The way he's doing the demo is pretty lame. He's trying to break it at the strongest point. And the spot he positions his hand on the stick is not where you'd put your hands on a hockey stick if you were truly trying to break it.
He also exaggerates a lot but I guess he is trying to sell his product which seems like a very good one but calling it unbreakable is BS. It will be extremely durable but I bet Burning Years would break it on his first try.

If they've got test sticks that have fired a thousand shots and shown little/no signs of wear as they allege, they're probably allowed to do a little control testing. Besides, at 270 bucks, I'd rather gamble on one of these not lasting QUITE as long as they claim as opposed to throwing down 299 on some Easton or Warrior that I'm paranoid will snap the moment I receive a pass.

"a specially reinforced hockey stick he promises is two to three times stronger and more durable than the regular composite sticks"
So yeah, it's breakable, but probably unbreakable in any hockey situation it will ever see.
It went through over 1000 straight slap shots without breaking. Ovechkin puts 300-500 shots on net per year. If they were all snapshots it would of lasted him 2-3 years.
Sounds good to me

False. You can't cut Chuck Norris's beard.

False. Chuck can karate chop bits of his beard off, the only problem is convincing him to do it, luckily he is a hockey fan.
Fun fact:
Do you know what is under Chuck Norris's beard?
Answer: A third fist.

As a goalie nothing is worse then your stick breaking and not being able to hold onto even the broken end. It's such an unnatural feeling not to have it, even if you're not using it all that much.

If you spend $300 on a stick then I have no sympathy when it breaks.
In what league do you play that you need a $300 stick? And the guy in the video claims his friends break a couple $250 sticks a week playing for fun? Well they're complete idiots.

Actually it does, but only if you're using enough force to break it. If you break your stick on a person, the energy that goes into breaking it is subtracted from the damage you're doing. Swing two sticks with the same force, and the one that breaks is doing less damage than the one that isn't.

That's true, but when was the last time we've seen someone break a composite stick over someone's head or leg?

I don't know. I certainly wouldn't consider it enough of a liability to disqualify the new product from use.

Al Iafrate
Al MacInnis, Al Iafrate, and Al Bundy should try these before they're considered unbreakable.

That's my point; I wouldn't. It's a waste of money.
Now if I can get five+ years (Based on how I go through sticks) out of a $269 stick, it's a better use of money long term, if the product is good.

I'll wait until the first reviews are out, but if this is true I'm down. I've probably broken 3x $100 sticks in the past six months anyway.

I don't get everyone asking how the big stick manufacturers are going to react to this. If it works, they'll probably license the technology from him, or barring that come up with something sort of similar that won't infringe on whatever patents he's got.
