Poirier will be a top 6 winger.

In my opinion the 3rd line is there nut its playing out of position right now in Bouma-Backlund-Colborne.

The BBC line.

Is he not LW?
If Gaudreau and Baertschi are not first and second line wingers, they have no place on the roster. Which is fine, but...

Poirier's been switched to RW.

Need Poirier to develop as a RW. We're so weak on the right side, if he blossoms into a top 6 scoring winger on the right side that'll be huge for us. Also considering this and next year's drafts there's next to no RWs in the top 5-10.

Is it me, or has the RW depth in drafts dropped significantly? I start to see LW and C's more then RWers nowadays.

It's like the opposite of the 80's/90's where Luc Robitaille seemed to be the only good LW.

If we somehow get Reinhart I'm gonna throw a party at my house. I'll supply the drinks and dancing girls. You're all invited if it happens ......

Spoiler!

But it may affect our decision on who to take @ 34th in a big way and i'm in favor of getting some more righties in the prospect pool.
Yikes Bennett looks slight.

Seeing him live doesn't change that appraisal. Fairly skinny dude.

If Buffalo takes Bennett instead of Reinhart, how great a chance is there Reinhart can get past Edmonton?..

At first glance, it's doubtful. But leave it up to the Oilers to get so fixated on one prospect (Leon) that they'd abandon all reason or logic.

More likely Reinhart is passed on by them then Bennett imo.

I agree that Reinhart could possibly be ours if Buffalo either picks Draisaitl or Bennett. Edmonton seems to be set on the both of those players. Oh how I would love two Reinharts on a team let alone the same line.

I'm still expecting the Oilers to trade the pick for help now or trade down for a pick like Ritchie plus help now.

Considering many thought Jones would go first and dropped to 4th, I think it's feasible that Reinhart could do just the same thing.

So much will hinge on the first two picks (specifically Buffalo's), and whether it ends up going Ekblad and Bennett, or Ekblad and Draisaitl.

I'd be worried if Edmonton trades their pick for immediate help. Any other team would have more sense. Worst case scenario is Vancouver is somehow involved in it..

I don't know a huge amount about Bennett aside from scouting reports published on cp from other sites/scouts, but it seems like a big part of his success stems from his physical play. Are there any concerns that he might not be able to have the same type of success in the NHL with this style of play, as he's only average size?

I know it sounds kind of silly based on his ranking through the year, but I always worry that when CHL kids are successful based partly on their physical play, they won't have the same success against bigger players.

Sam Bennett is considered by some scouting sources to have the least holes/weaknesses in his game of the top forwards. He's relentless in his play, is fast, physical, and is no doubt skilled as well. He can deeke like a magician (there are a few plays in his highlight package that clearly demonstrate this) and has a great wrister and can roof it on the backhand.

It's not just that he's an average sized player that plays physcial that makes him good in his junior league, it's that he's strong in just about all areas, and has a motor that doesn't quit. I'd personally be more worried about having a super skilled guy with no grit or drive in his game. You'll need that if you have any hope of translating the finesse side to the NHL. And Bennett's got that NHL type skillset. He'll be good.

He does seem to have a rather narrow rib-cage rather than just a frame in need of filling out. I doubt he'll change his abrasive style but he'll have to learn to pick his spots against the big boys.

It's almost like a bigger Paul Byron with better hands.

Doubtful. I don't think the scouting staff has finalized their list yet.

That is an extremely debateable statement. Not sure the scouts see it that way. Very different type of offensive players and I'm not sure I see any of them having a huge edge on the other two offensively.
