You'd be surprised at how many people think they're dying after eating beets and not thinking about it after. Or maybe you wouldn't be surprised, I don't know. The #### people think are emergencies can be staggering. Arm hurts? Emergency. Shoe in the face? Emergency. Didn't sleep last night? You'd better believe that's an emergency. The person you're stalking stopped answering their phone? Call the cavalry, because this one is a doozey.

I had no idea you were a returnee. I knew you posted the same images a few times though . My point wasn't against the few that returned and learned from their actions. I just don't get the ones that upset the board so much they are told to leave, and then want to come back. If you liked being here that much, then wouldn't you want to abide by the rules?

Coming home and finding a massive sewer backup in our parkade. My motorcycle is at the lowest point. Good news is I got it out just in time before it got in the exhaust pipes. Bad news is, I had to make a snap decision to wade into half calf deep raw sewage to get it out. Scrubbed my legs raw and had to throw away a pair of really nice Clark's.

I really feel for the dude who's Corvette Z06 is now filled with poo water.

Yeah, thought you might enjoy the attention you conjured up from particular people.

Congratulations though on figuring out the inherent sarcasm associated with the phrase I used, but you missed the intent. Instead of lazily attempting a "joke," the phrase is actually used not as a joke, but rather as a simple (perhaps condescending, but not with cruel spirit) response to someone's emotional display of an apparent "outrage" (or it's synonyms).

You know what GMG? People like you. There are returning posters here who are here with the blessing of moderators and who have clearly done their best to fix their reputation. There are also people here who are accused of being returning posters even though there is zero evidence or reason to suggest it. I assume in most cases the evidence is "abrasive, posts a lot, must be returning."

Honestly, for the few people who take the returning poster thing as more than a fun way to take a jab at a guy, it's probably time to check back in with reality and relax. You really spend time wondering why people return? Why people would want to come back? Who is on their first? Second? Third account? Surely your life is more interesting than that. I KNOW it is, because no one' slide is that boring. I mean really man, who cares? I couldn't care less if you are on your first account, or second, why you joined, whether it was in 2003 or 2013, but you care about undercover brother?

This board is for discussing things, right? I think some people would likely be better off if they didn't negatively focus so much on other people, and focused a little more on just the words on the screen.

Good thing your Tiguan wasn't down there. That would have made the choosing much more difficult. Glad to hear the bike survived

Meh, the Tiguan has the ground clearance. And I had more than enough time to hit up Walmart for a pair of rubber boots to retrieve it. But you just made me shudder as I just realized something. I drove my 135i to work today, and the only reason I did, was because I left my Tiguan key up in my condo, and I was too lazy to trek back up 4 flights of stairs to get it. Normally the BMW is my weekends only car.

I would be making a really crappy call to insurance tomorrow if I wasn't so lazy this morning, and my knee wasn't so sore. Talk about a silver lining.

Freaking pedestrian keep on walking while you are backing up your car from the parking lot. For pete's sake... you see me backing up stop walking. Almost hit this freaking guy. I see noone in site so I started backing up, the next thing I knew this guy just walked behind my car just like nothing happened. It sucks that if I hit that m*R*n I am still at fault no matter what... so there goes my insurance. You want to kill yourself go jump off the bridge and don't involve someone else. So far I've seen it happen way too many times!!

I get what Oz is saying. To be safe you back out slow and steady, and a pedestrian decides rather than waiting the 5 seconds makes you have to stop abruptly to avoid hitting them. Especially when they are walking from a position where you wouldn't have been able to see them.

I have a lot of free time. Sometimes I wonder about mundane things. It doesn't interrupt any part of my life to wonder if someone is on a second or third account. It likely took up four minutes of my day, which I was probably going to use to search on YouTube. I might have even been able to do both of those things at once. I'm also very relaxed. It doesn't bother me at all that you are bothered about what I wonder about. I am very aware of reality, and do not need to check back in. I never said I cared that UCB was a returnee. I think I was aware of it, as I think it was brought up in the returning posters thread that was locked.

You're right. This board is for discussing things. One of the things that gets discussed is returning posters. I simply wondered why people would want to go back to a place you weren't wanted. I don't go hang out with my ex-girlfriends or the KFC I was laid off from when I was 17. I further wonder if you get banned three times, why would you want to continue joining? Clearly there would be something about your posting style that isn't acceptable. In order to fit in, you'd have to completely change how you act. That's likely a good thing, but then you aren't being true to yourself.

You said you couldn't care less which account a person is on, or when they joined. I think that a person who has been an upstanding member of a board for over ten years would have more respect and a higher standing than a guy on his third account that rejoined in the last month. I'll read both posters, but I'd likely give more weight and credit to a poster I've known as a good poster for years, rather than someone who has been banned twice. That's how I really feel.

It's not even having to wait. If I have to walk through a parking lot and see somebody start their car, I just move to the other side of the parking lot. 99.9% of the time, the car backing up won't go so far as to bump into the car on the the opposite side of the lot, so I feel fairly safe and we can all continue on with what we were doing virtually uninterrupted.

Maybe that's true, but this is the Internet, this place doesn't exist in a bubble. You think the majority of people that read or contribute to this site look at join dates? I'd bet no. If it's important to you, like it is to a couple people, that's totally cool too. But the people that make it into an issue are just being silly.

In a sense, it's trolling/bullying or whatever you want to call it. When you say "Oh you're a returning poster," a lot of people do it to be condescending and use it as an insult. It's obviously got a negative connotation around here, but it's used fairly freely. Same with the people who see a new person they don't like and respond to their post with "Join Date: April 2014". Like really, WHO CARES?

We all make fun of the Oilers for being an old boys club, but there are absolutely a few "upstanding" members of this board that treat this like their own old boys club. This is the Internet, it's a public message board available to any person out there, not your clubhouse where it's cool to just sit back and trash new posters who come in a bit heavy. Congrats, you've been on a message board for ten years and your personality is such that you've never done anything that overstepped the bounds. That's good for you, but you really think it makes you a better poster or contributor than anyone else? It doesn't. The vast majority don't really care.

I can't speak for everyone, but personally, accusations of being a returning poster don't bother me when they're done in jest. I really couldn't care less what you think my history is. I know what it is, if you wanted to ask you could just ask, but I think it's easier just to sit there and throw around accusations. The only thing I ever take issue on is when people use stuff like that to be insulting and rude. It's the closest thing CP has to being accused of a crime (which totally over-dramatises it, but stay with me) and when you do it with the express intent of lowering someone's credibility, it makes you look small. It's the same with mentioning recent join dates. It's just the CP way of saying "You're just a child." It's condescending.

It's a message board, let's get over it, shall we? Whether you've been here for ten years with a perfect track record, or are on your 9th account, or just joined yesterday, your potential for value and intellectual input are the exact same.

At it's base level, it's a hockey board. If you come out and say "Giordano is above average" and UCB says "Actually he's better than that, he's great!" I'm not going weigh how many years ago each account was created before I decide whose opinion I respect more. I could see it if this were a job, you'd trust the experienced guy, but it's not, it's just a message board. If that's what you do, well, good for you I guess, but your join date doesn't make you right or wrong.

The only time I EVER weigh certain posts over others based on the poster is when I know for a fact those guys have insider information. Guys like Muta? If he says something that has to do with City planning (new stadium for example) I listen closer, because I know his opinion is to respected. That has nothing to do with what account he's on, who cares about that?

The Internet.

I've never felt that stopping while going backwards at 3 KPH is anything close to "abrupt"

The following conversation just ground my gears.

Co-worker: I wish we could go with paperless receipts but the clients need a copy
Me: The clients still need a paper copy.
CW: Yeah, I wish I knew how the other branch got away with it. They don't print them out anymore.
Me: Do you actually mail the receipt to the client?
CW: Yeah
Me: To bad you can't use email.
CW: I do
Me: Wait, you print it out and then scan it to send?
CW: Yes
