I take 37th SW on the way home every day. People are constantly schlepping out of the Safeway at 37th and Richmond with their bags, and just crossing the road wherever they feel like.
There is a crosswalk maaayyybe 50 yards away.. Gah

I have a coat that loads up with static, I have to turn off the iPod and take the earbuds out before I take it off or I get a brutal shock.

Ah, the call of the ######mobile. The stupid large piped diesel truck that's inevitably been jacked up. Every single person who drives one is a dick.

Personally I've had the least amount of hassles giving away stuff on Kijiji VS selling it. Anytime I've listed a price I get the stupid low ballers. Anytime I've posted stuff for free it's been gone within an 3 hours of posting.
I just always put in the add "free X to good home. No delivery, no holds, free to the first person who can take it away". Heck I even haggled some guy who was taking a coffee table to haul off an ugly recliner as well. Don't think he even wanted the chair, but he had room in his truck and I kinda put him on the spot.

I would rather drop stuff off at the drop in centre than deal with kijjiji trash for a few bucks. At least at the drop in they are thankful and help you unload.

Goodwill and Women in Need Society are good places to call first and see if they will take it. Drop off locations all over the city.

Goodwill doesn't (or they claim not to) have a truck to come and pick up your stuff, and they are very selective about what kinds of furniture they will take.
When I was trying to offload a lot of furniture in a short timeframe (bed frames, dressers, etc) due to a sudden move, Goodwill wasn't interested at all and without a truck, there was no way to get the stuff to them.
I think that we did end up giving some dining room chairs to WINS, but they didn't want the bed frame or the dresser, as I recall.

The company I work for gmg with their unethical BS.
Basically they're changing the policy regarding paying invoices with variances. Currently all invoices with a variance of $50 or more, regardless of if it's positive or negative, gets reviewed by us in logistics/procurement. Now they're switching it so that all variances in our favor will be paid without question. I think that's quite unethical considering that accounting and management is all over us to try and squeeze every penny out out of vendors and carriers for things like damaged product, missed deliveries and us overpaying invoices when they are usually our fault... etc.
For a company that has "integrity" as one of their core values that are publically listed on their website, I think it's quite rich. This combined with there general treatment of employees (think "just be happy you have a job" kind of attitude) makes me so excited to get my mortgage approval taken care of so I can find another job, quit and send an email to the senior leadership team here along with fellow employees, vendors and the carriers we use, voicing my displeasure about that situation.
Really couldn't care less about burning this bridge. I despise this entire industry.

Yup...I hate the low ballers. That's why I usually try and sell an item anywhere else but there. I can understand trying to cut the price a bit but offering 25% of the price is stupid.

My biggest Kijiji pet peeve is the "would you take x amount for it if I pay cash". I honestly don't know how else you would pay. Do some people accept cheques? Maybe a bank draft but I highly doubt that is very common for someone buying a hundred dollar futon.

Since we're talking about Kijiji...was anyone listening to the FAN960 on Tuesday morning? This was just after 8AM, Boomer started talking about Kijiji for some reason, and brought up an ad he had seen for a hockey puck, autographed by "Calgary Flames Lance 17".
The seller wants one of the following:
- iPad 3
- iPhone 5 or 5S
- $400 cash
No joke.

Seems legit. I think a CP member should "inquire" and post any correspondence.

Have you read Strombad's last two posts regarding this? It has been established that he is pretty damn stupid.

Oh, I've got absolutely zero qualms about being at fault if that's how it shook down. Thing is, I'd still be alive.
I took my eyes off the road for two seconds maybe, tops? I was using hands free, abiding by the law, just moved my phone which had slid behind the shifter, there were no crosswalks or corners anywhere near me. Quite frankly, I'd be surprised if I was deemed at fault, but regardless of that, I'm not the guy who ran in front of a vehicle going 40km.
It's not illegal to change the dials, to grab a snack, to grab your drink, to take out a smoke, to look at someone for a moment while they talk to you, etc. All of which take about the same time or more than the time I spent moving my phone back into my seat, so if nothing else, I'd have a fair argument.
