I am not sure there could be any better year for Iggy to win the cup. The B's are one of the cup favorites and there is no reason why they shouldn't be.. Such a stacked team.
Really hope Iggy wins it. Really deserves one.

I have confidence that they'll push just that much more if they make the finals, just for Iggy's sake.

Most stacked forward group in the NHL. They got a lot of depth on D, but they are young. Good thing they have the Vezina winner between the pipes.
Bruins in 5-6-7-7
Iggy hoists the Cup in Boston then signs a 3 year 3 mill deal with the Flames to retire in Cowtown.

Boston/Detroit Game 1 is Friday on TSN and NBCSN.
I wish they started tonight instead.

The hockey gods owe both the bruins and iggy this cup. Iggy for being cheated out of his rightful cup in '04. The bruins for sending Raymond Bourque to Colorado so he could win his cup and then holding a parade for him when he won it. Seems fitting for the bruins to get iggy his cup.

Seems fitting for the Bruins to help Iggy get his cup.

I hope Iggy wins his cup this year. I also hope Iggy plays his last season as a Flame and retires as a Flame.
But I do not hope him winning it this year would see him return to Calgary next season (for the record I don't think that's even remotely something that would happen). This a Flames team needs more time and more distance to develop its new identity and culture. I'd say at least a couple more seasons if not 3. Then only then would it be safe for Iggy to return to be a part of the new team and retire with this organization. If he comes back before then, it would simply confuse the leadership structure and throw into disarray the new culture and new page this team worked so hard to instil this year.

Bruins are a dirty team that doesn't deserve another SC.
Too bad for Iginla because he does deserve one.

Too bad for everyone that life isn't fair and the Bruins could totally win it anyway.

When people whine about the Bruins being a dirty team, I immediately come to two conclusions.
1. Must be a Canucks or Canadiens fan.
2. Obviously not old enough to have witnessed the Flames play the Oilers in the 80's. It was called the "Battle of Alberta" for a reason.
Anyway, this is a thread about Iginla. I would argue that he is not a dirty player.

Another win, another bump!
I don't see Montreal being able to handle the Bruins. This really could be Iggy's time to finally lift the Cup.

You are wrong, on every single comment you made.
I remember battle of Alberta very well.
In threads I'm pro fighting and I like Don Cherry.
I overlook any and all cheap shots Flames deliver.
Since, I have no emotional attachment to Bruins I can be objective.
I overlooked Lucic's first nut shot, the second one pissed me off, extremely cowardly. Turns out by his own admission this was only the 3rd time he had done it. I cannot stand Marchand.
I'm going to be cheering for Sharks in this playoff but good luck.
Btw. Until Lucic did what he did I was cheering for Boston because of Iginla.

Like Iginla, but of course do not want to see him win a cup while wearing a Bruins jersey.

I don't think the Bruins will handle the Habs as easily as they are with the Red Wings. I am expecting a good 6 or 7 game series with these two. The Habs are not going to go away. Like the Bruins, they are able to roll out all 4 lines.
The upside to Boston is that I think Rask is better than Price but only by a little. Also, Boston will be using their size on the Habs, a huge advantage that can possibly end the Habs' hope for the cup. With that being said, I put Boston in 6 games on my bracket. Wouldn't be surprised if it hit 7 games though. There is no way they get a sweep. This is your year Iggy, go get it.

I will be cheering for Boston from the east (only because of Iginla) and Anaheim from the west. I want Iggy to get a cup, but sorry guys, if it is ducks vs bruins in the final, I'll be cheering for ducks

Being so objective, could you explain why you hate Marchand but have a username that I assume refers to the former Flames player that had a lot in common with him?
