I know I am in the vast minority as somebody not supporting one of the big teams, but randomly following Palace this year... what a blast. All hard work blood and guts and minimal talent. Might have to watch their games again next year.
As a neutral I have really started to hope Liverpool pulls it out, I love seeing fans of teams that haven't won in a while get rewarded for their years of loyalty... was happy when city won a few years ago, would be great to see the reds pull it off this year.

My In-Laws are from Croyden, their old apartment was just by Selhurst, they're huge Palace fans and have been loving this season.
I often like watching new teams in the Premier League but for some reason Palace just dont excite me.

That's fair because there's not much flair there, although I do think the counterattacking style they play with such fast wingers is not as bad as Pulis's old Stoke sides.
Still to me it's overall been a nice story coming as close as they did to going belly up after Jordan. I think these couple seasons with the extra 100 mil + they will have gotten should change the club permanently, they will be investing in infrastructure pretty heavily and they have a huge population if they polish up the stadium and stay up for a while.
Wish Chelsea Liverpool was sooner... What a game that is going to be. Now that city dropped points yesterday, Liverpool can still win the title with even a draw.

Yeah me too, thats going to be a hell of a game.
A bunch of ex-pat Brits around my office are huge Newcastle fans and they cant wait for this season to be over. I found out some interesting things about Newcastle and Pardew.
According to my inlaws though Selhurst park is a thorough dump. 'Home Field Advantage' for Palace is that players want to get the hell out of that stadium/city ASAP.

Interesting article:
Quote:
Manchester City have been revealed as the best-paid team in world sport in a survey conducted by Sporting Intelligence and ESPN the Magazine.
The Capital One Cup winners’ first-team players earn on average $8.1 million (5.3 million pounds) per year, putting them just ahead of two baseball teams, the New York Yankees and the Los Angeles Dodgers.
City’s overall team payroll, of 202 million dollars, is the third highest, behind the Yankees and the Dodgers, who spent 241 million dollars on salaries, but the 2012 Premier League champions’ average income is the highest.

Theres a list of professional sports payrolls in that article as well Bayern is 7th most expensive, ManU is 8th, the Mumbai Indians are 24th and the Calgary Flames are 144th.
Oh. and Liverpool is 20th. Dont know if that is pre or post Suarez's new deal.
Damned Mumbai Indians. Go Bangalore Royal Challengers!

Selhurst looks like a classic run down ground you'd see in the 80s/early 90s before most premier league stadiums started getting overhauled, pretty decrepit... also did some reading about croydon, which looks pretty crappy too. I think the run down packed ground and rowdy fans make them more fun to watch though. Also love their culture, the chairman has a subforum on their fan message board and answers fan questions all the time, pretty cool I thought.
A little jealous of the ex pats, I love watching soccer/football, the sport is great and I've been to games all over europe in my travels but I can never love a team like I do the flames. Growing up watching a team, seeing them live, watching them with your dad, etc, etc instills irrational fandom I'll never have in soccer... Closest thing it the canadian national team I guess which still doesn't approach the flames.

Every higher a club finishes was worth just over $2 million Canadian in prize money last year and every spot above 11th gets an additional 2-4 million per slot in TV money. Palace are racking up some cash with this late season streak, their 110 mil or whatever for just being in the premier league next season is the biggest part but if they can pick up another 4 points or so from their final 3 games and finish mid table, will be almost another 20 million bucks more than if they'd finished 17th.
Chelsea Sunderland is a good game, can't believe Ramires didn't get sent off though, what happened there, he clearly hit Larsson in the face with intent there, Jose will have to keep his complaints of the reffing to himself for at least a few weeks after that.

WTF was that about? Member of the Chelsea coaching staff just flipped and got sent to the stands. He was being physically restrained by Mourinho.

If all else fails, blames the refs. Clear penalty, took out Altidore's left leg. Wow Sunderland, who saw this coming in London.

I never thought Sunderland would have such a huge part to play in the title race. Sweet!

Well it looks like Liverpool may luck their way into the title. Pretty disgusting if they do.
I missed the early part of the Premiership in the 90's but I would assume if Liverpool wins this would be by far the worst team ever to win?
Pretty embarrassing for the EPL which seems to think it plays high level football.
