That's a tough one. Unless Burke personally says, "play him," I'm not so sure. If Kanzig came down last week, I think you would've seen him in a game or two, but now that the team is three road games away from the playoffs, it's a tough call.

Since we didn't make the playoffs last year I am a little fuzzy on this, AHL live will still show the games right?

That's too bad. I would imagine there would have been a better chance if the back to back to back had been at home. Thanks Mike and good luck with whatever comes your way next season.

I do believe they will be streamed on AHL Live, yes.

Default 2013/14 General Heat Discussion Thread

@brandon_astle: Poirier joined the team for practice today in San Antonio. Kanzig stayed behind in Abbotsford. http://t.co/OTVh69uuTz

@brandon_astle: Ward said last week that he wants the draft picks to play. Expecting Poirier to possibly make his professional debut tomorrow vs. Rampage.

Explains why PMM didn't see him.

Granlund back with the heat:

Dan Kinvig @DanKinvig
LW Emile Poirier (Flames 1st-rd pick in 2013) is on road w/ #AHLHeat, along w/ Markus Granlund & Trevor Gillies, who are coming off injuries

Dan Kinvig @DanKinvig
Troy Ward expects all three players to get into lineup during 3-games-in-3-nights road trip – Poirier may play in two of the three games.

As nice as it is to see our draft picks joining the team like Kanzig and Poirier, Granlund possibly returning is the real boost to the Heat line up for playoff time. HUGE

Granlund stayed behind when the Flames went home, so I was given the impression he was really close to being medically cleared.

Just saw on the transaction page that Eric Roy has signed an ATO with the heat, I assume this is probably old news in this thread but not sure where to look. I haven't heard much from him in a while and was under the impression he probably isn't going to last...

Is he probably cut next year?

Wow what a talent infusion for the heat! Granlund, Poirier and Klimchuk on offense, Kanzig Roy and Kulak on defense! Fantastic depth going forward in the playoffs!

Hard to say. I haven't heard much from him. He can go to the AHL next year or back to junior for an overage season like Culkin did this year. I'd imagine he might end up back in junior.

Will we still hold his rights next year? Sorry I think I've confused myself with Roy...

Yeah, I think you get a player's rights for two years after you draft them. So because Roy was drafted last year, we need to sign him before June 1 of 2015. Someone correct me if I'm wrong

Kanzig and Roy won't see ice time. They are Black Aces.

Ortio's backup will be Doug Carr.

I have a lineup in mind, but no patience to type it on an iPhone keyboard. Will do it tonight.

Didn't Ward specifically say they would play?

Not in the playoffs.

Which apparently I confused a Twitter question and this.

Sorry, my bad. Brain's gone.
