It's all about timing. If John has decided in the last couple of days or even yesterday, you simply don't announce until after the HB ceremony. It's really not that big a deal to wait a few more hours is it?

The other two finalists are probably just being realistic about their chances. Seriously. It will be THAT MUCH of a sham if Gaudreau does not win the Hobey Baker tonight. I'm still ticked he didn't win last year.

The Flames are a class organization.
Therefore they will do this 'right'. The 'doing the right thing' is referring to the Flames. The proper thing for the Flames to do is not up stage the HB announcement and the tournament.
Also, the other two Hobey finalists are not in the Frozen Four, so not applicable.

Pretty sure the Flames media person is Torie Peterson. She was at the Hobey Baker awards ceremonies last year as well.

The other two finalists season was also over and they had the opportunity to play in games before the Hobey Baker presentation.
Gaudreau can wait until after and still have lots of time to sign and play Sunday.

 It isn't. That's why I said I had no issue with it. In fact that was my expectation since the game ended yesterday.
But as soon as I speculated the chances of it happening beforehand (for the sake of something to discuss), people jumped on me. The tension in this thread is getting to be a little too much... Gonna stick to twitter this morning and come back later, I think..
