I can also confirm Burke said this. He said it at the luncheon on Tuesday to everyone in the crowd.

Was it a statement of fact or Burke bluster?

Yup immediate bust, didn't score 40 goals and 100+ points in his rookie year.
His rookie year consisting of one game.

Your post doesn't make sense in relation to the one you quoted.

If BC wins the finals on Saturday, the boys are going out to party. Then, Johnny is going to pop up in the morning, hop on a plane, fly across the continent, and suit up against the Vancouver Canucks.

There's been 2 years of fear mongering around here in regards to Gaudreau being a flight risk.
What are we going to talk about after he signs?

We'll do the same thing we did when Dustin Boyd signed.

I don't know about everyone else, but after Johnny signs I'm going to start freaking out about Gillies playing 4 years of college then signing elsewhere as a UFA.

Man, I'm going to the game tomorrow in pretty good seats (section 105)
Would love it if Johny played tomorrow.
Papi, any chance of that happening or we'd have to wait till Sunday?

no chance.
Not only is the Hobey Baker awards ceremony on Friday, but his family, friends and team-mates will most certainly all be there to watch him win.

Yeah pretty much zero chance JG plays friday. Still exciting that he may possibly get a game in.

Not to mention he could very well be playing in the championship game on Saturday...

Ya'll need to think outside the box. There is still a way he could play for Calgary on Friday, and still be eligible to play on Saturday.
Since Byron wants to spend time with his new son and wife, we put Johnny in Byron's uniform on Friday... he then flys back to play in the final on Saturday, and then plays his first "official" game on Sunday.

My question is what happens if they win? Does he still play Sunday? Is he on a short list for team USA at the WCs? Or does he go to the AHL to help the Heat?

If they play in the finals game, I can't see him playing in the Van game. However, in that case, signing an ATO with the Heat is a realistic possibility.

I imagine he'll finish on Saturday and then jump a plane alongside Arnold and fly straight to Vancouver.
Finals game happens at 5:30PM Saturday. Flight time from Philly to Vancouver is 5 1/2 hours, and the game against the Canucks is at 7PM.

I am guessing that for him to play in Vancouver he needs his work visa stuff straightened out. Considering the flames can not do any of that work, or probably even talk to him to get the information they need. Is it possible for all that to fall into place in a short time?

I just want him to sign right away... With all the worry and analysis into what JG is going to do, if he doesn't sign within a day of finishing his college season, there will be panic on CP.
