It would look pretty bad if Johnny went free agent and then signed with the Flyers. The Flames would point to that picture and call antics.

I doubt that PL is going to risk his career to do a recruiting drive for a team that fired him.

Laviolette is 6"2 so you'd have to assume Johnny is wearing skates.

The vid said Johnny was 5'9. That's an inch taller than MSL. Plus, we as humans don't fully stop growing till 25 (usually around 21 and fill out till 25). He'll be fine in the NHL, especially with Big Ern on his wing.

I think the well documented rumour is MSL is 5.9 with skates on, standing on a phone book. When he was still with the Flames, he stood back to back with Fleury and Fleury was taller.

Laviolette is probably still getting paid by the Flyers, maybe doing some scouting or helping out in some manner. He has no business talking to Gaudreau unless he's checking things out for the Worlds. Not sure who is coaching this years team but Laviolette could be involved.

Agreed. Hands off our prospect... If laviolette is at all associated with any NHL team right no that's a big no-no. Mcgrattan can sit for tonight and fly down to the boston college game to watch out for Johnny and the flames' interests.

He was fired as coach, he might still be getting paid his contract but he was fired, let go. He wasn't fired and hired as a scout or anything like that. He has no affiliation with the Flyers at this point.

I think we just need to send big ern with his dogs to have a little visit with his parents, to introduce himself as Johnny's protector here in Calgary

He's getting paid for another year by the Flyers, so he is affiliated. Like I said though it could be to do with the upcoming Worlds.

Not affiliated at all, he was fired. Management and coaches contracts state they still get paid the contract even after they're removed though.

Jay Feaster has no affiliation with the Calgary Flames either.

Doubt it. Many coaches including Julien have been invited to talk to the team. Of course they're going to talk to Johnny Hockey

That's up to the team doing the firing. I've heard of fired team personnel being kept around in consulting capacities.

Even Daryl Sutter didn't make a complete break when he got the axe.

Regardless, if NHL coaches past or present are given access to these players there is no telling what they're discussing. Hopefully it nothing to worry about and he signs the day BC either wins the tournament or is eliminated. If he doesn't sign immediately following the tournament I'm going to be a little concerned.

I think the one thing we have going for us is his centre, Bill Arnold is also Flames property. Hopefully their friendship will drive both to sign with Calgary.

Good to hear everyone hyping Johnny up during tonight's game. Doesn't hurt that this team is amazing to watch.. My girlfriend tonight asked me "aren't they supposed to be rebuilding?"

So mods can ask me for my source and i can provide, but a friend of mine told me that he talked with Brian Burke yesterday and asked him about Johnny. Burke said right to him that Johnny would be in the line up Sunday night vs the Canucks.

Take it for what its worth but those were the words out of his mouth.

that would be a silly thing for Burke to say since BC's season may not be over by Saturday
