Just watched the Sportsnet highlights of the Chelsea/Palace match and they called John Terry the "Dion Phaneuf of the EPL."
Shots fired.

lol.
So Smalling, Evans, & Rafael are hurt & Rafael is suspended, just in time for the game vs Bayern.
RVP, & Mata are also out, hurt & ineligible.
Bayern also has an injury concern to their 6th midfielder Alcantera.

Don't knock Alcorcon. That was a ton of fun being in that 5000 seat stadium. Match was intense, fans were into it.
Was really letdown by Camp Nou. The match we saw was bad so that didn't help but the crowd seemed to be a ton of tourists like my group and the atmosphere was kinda dull even with a crowd of 62000.

I think Chomp is going to surpass CR7's goal record.

Not sudden news, but Carrick & Lampard are surely not going to Brazil, the kids are ready.
Gerrard captains.

He could have had a hat trick today. I just wish Sturridge would stay on his feet, he got Kaboul carded on another dive.
The British are an odd lot. The second yellow/red for Vidic when Sturridge dove and then this one today, both times the commentators have sided with Sturridge. They admit there was little to no contact and that he played the ref but then turn right around and say that the defender deserved it for even trying a challenge like that.
Its as though in their mind the intent was all that matters. Its weird. The fact of the matter is though that Liverpool dont need every call to go their way and they dont need to manufacture false calls, they're good enough to win the game without that crap and I'm hoping Rodgers sorts it out.
Hell, if Rodgers can turn Luis Suarez's disciplinary record around when he retires from football he can go to work for the UK's Corrections Department reforming hardened criminals. Sturridge should be a piece of cake.

Almost looked effortless. I'd make a crack at Spurs playing poorly but as the announcers stated, over two matches this season: Liverpool 9 - Tottenham 0.
Wouldnt surprise me if this one gets their second manager of the season fired too.

It'd be silly of Spurs to dump Sherwood so late in the season. They'll bring in LVG post W.C.
Sherwood and Moyes are dead men walking, though.

I know, I just thought it would be funny if two Spurs managers were fired right after both Liverpool matches in the same season.

I do feel a bit bad or Sherwood. He seems like a good guy but he was put in a position where he had absolutely no chance.

He really does seem like a likeable guy, I hope he lands on his feet somewhere.
It'll be pretty interesting if LVG does replace him. It would seem rather likely that he and Levy would butt heads.

I'm actually curious as to how much longer Levy sticks around.

You can only hire and fire so many managers before the problem becomes clear?

Pretty much. I can't really blame him too much for the summer signings since I think they were mostly Baldini's decisions but waiting last minute to sell Modric and VDV last year was a mistake and I'm still not sure what exactly 'Arry did to get sacked. I think it's pretty clear now that Bale made last year's squad look much stronger than it actually was.

Harry got sacked because he flaunted himself for the England job and his transfer dealings were absolutely horrible
I don't get the complaints about Levy, he's handicapped by the stadium size for at least another 2.5 years and has had them finish 5th or higher (4th twice) with a budget that wage wise should have them in 7th or lower
the whole manager thing is overrated too, they have had the same amount of managers as Liverpool, less than Chelsea, less than City, less than almost every top half club outside Man U/Arsenal/Everton for the last decade

I think Sherwood is an idiot, the faster he goes the better, he's embarrassing the club
Sherwood was the leak to the Guardian stuff and David Hytner with all the Bale leaks last summer and the AVB stuff in the fall
