The soonest IMO would be the end of next season, when Carl's a little more grown up and can take over the fort. Hopefully he gets less annoying with age.
I don't find him that annoying. He isn't the strongest actor, but he's better than the other kids. He definitely had some 'cool' moments early in season three when he started to become a force.
There was definitely something off with the first episode this season, it was a little cringe worthy as some people have said, and I can't even put my finger exactly on it, so I'll just chalk it up to acting. Probably had something to do with the way the dialogue was written too. Maybe one episode of just them was too much, who knows. I guess it had Michonne in it too, but still...
But I thought they've had some good father - son moments over the years.
And as for people not expecting Rick to be in a coma, it would only because they wouldn't believe the writers would dare do that because it's such a cop out and has been done to death. Maybe you have been around as long as some, but trust me when I say it's an old idea and has been done many times, and people are sick of it. Purely idea wise it's horribly predictable, and as I said from a writing standpoint it's lazy, and really makes a mockery of the whole journey. Which again, has less importance in a comedy, but really kinda is a big middle finger in a drama.
It's the sort of thing you see all the time in kids cartoons and such. And that's where it should stay,
I remember in elementary, we had to write a short story in an hour as part of an exam. I think they gave you the beginning and you had to write the rest. I remember I worked in Pearl Harbour and time travel, which it's pretty good for a 10-year old if I do say so myself. Guess watching all that Sci-Fi stuff as a kid paid off!
Anyway, after the exam, my teacher was praising how creative and cool my story was, and told me half the kids coped out (likely ran short on time) and did the "it was all a dream" ending. So I guess the point of this is that yeah, it's been done to death. But really the main point of this story is to praise the 10-year old version of myself. Yeah! *looks for high fives*

Not a chance Rick dies this season. I bet he's around for at least another season after this and depending on ratings, maybe even another.

I would hazard a guess that rick does not die ever if the show follows any direction from the graphic novels. This season will end at the town, and it will be a shift to what they all have put up with.
One thing that isn't touched on with the show is how northerners would have fared in the outbreak in the winters where they would need fire for heat. Also I imagine the walkers would completely freeze at sub zero temperatures making travel relatively safe outdoors in the cold. Maybe the northern territories would be the place to be.

Seriously, has no one read World War Z? Max Brooks is even doing an AMA next week, I'm assuming he'll get asked about this show if he's watched it. Here's an abridged audiobook which is at least as enjoyable to listen to as this show is to watch.

Dude, stfu with that "well what happens in the comics is..." crap. Particularly revealing the destiny of the main character. People would be so pissed if I went into the Game of Thrones thread and wrote something like "Well if it follows the books, Lord Soandso won't die."

OT, but that movie was such a #######ization of a great book.

First off don't call me dude, secondly grow up.
You did see I said I would "hazard a guess" meaning I am GUESSING as to the outcome. All I am doing is making a guess from the info provided in the thread. A spoiler is a outcome that is going to happen, not one that someone is guessing at.

Alright I was just mildly scolding but now you're being a dickwad so here is your original post.

What you are saying there is, "in the graphic novels, Rick doesn't die, so if the show follows that direction, you guys are wrong in your predictions". That is a spoiler. It is not based on the thread, it is based on the ***king graphic novels.
Again, I could just as easily do this with the Game of Thrones thread. "Oh, you guys are talking about Character X, well if the show follows the book, he'll survive throughout next season so I think you guys are wrong". If someone posted that, he'd be immolated.
Yeah, that's a pretty damn big spoiler I could have done without. I don't understand why it is so hard to exclude book/novel talk in these threads. It has to be said over, and over, and over...and it still happens.

The first time I watched the movie, I found it to be average. And then I read the book, and thought the movie really did suck in comparison. But then I watched an extended version of the movie at a friends house after, and actually found it to be actually pretty good the second go around. It was weird. I think you just have to consider the movie as one of the many short stories from the book.
I thought it was common knowlege that Rick doesn't die in the comics. Many of the actors/writers/producers in interviews have said Rick is the closest to being untouchable in the show. You guys seem like you're wound pretty tight today.
It has been talked about a lot outside of the show, but not inside the show itself. A lot of people ignore the outside stuff to keep the show as fresh as possible, so I understand the frustration.
That being said, we know that with 100% certainty the show has strayed from the source material in a lot of big ways.. so for those who feel slighted just keep that in mind please.

I don't think you need to call people names at the start of every argument. I hold no ill will towards you I actually feel sorry for you that a TV show can lead you to insulting others. I am not going to argue opinions with you especially over something that has been mentioned several times and is common knowledge.
There is no point in me reiterating what the above posters have already said. Please refrain from the name calling if you respond, it's not needed.
