Actually, personally or honestly also go in this bucket.
I honestly think this is best. Why did you say honestly? Are you lying every other time and that's why you have to say this time you're being honest?

Actually- a polite way of saying "you are wrong." Also can be used to express first person. ("I actually saw this happen last week....")
Personally- I say this when I know the other person is going to disagree with me
Honestly- I'm a person who jokes around a lot, and I know this can be taken as a joke, but I am being serious.

Holy hell. STFU. I despise that line.

on tuesday night a buddy (and fellow cp-er) came over for dinner and the flames game. i wasn't able to get bison burgers (flames vs sabres) so i went to a tried and tested dinner - tacos. while we were partaking in the feast, some delicious goodness fell from the end of my taco onto my hoodie.... it was a chunk of onion from the salsa.
i held the chunk between my thumb and index finger, looked at my buddy and said, 'damn onions!' we both had a good laugh, my wife didn't get it
is this an acceptable use of that line?

What Grinds my gears? The hoard of 100 plus people standing and smoking right outside the East exit of the sadledome as I try to leave the game with my 3 and 5 year old children in hand. Hey Calgary Flames, the Law states that “Smoking is not allowed within five meters of a doorway, window or air intake of a public place or workplace.”

I was going to post almost this exact same thing!
All those words are a bit overused, but when used properly (like above) they are valuable parts of conversation.
Concerning honestly:
It can also be used to avoid the other person incorrectly taking something as exaggeration.
If I say, "It's the best album I've ever heard" I would expect some people to interpret it as potential hyperbole, but if I say "It's honestly the best album I've ever heard" I am attempting to eliminate any misinterpretation and make my feeling very clear.
Literally is also great for clarification. Problem is, a lot of people use it as a meaningless intensifier instead of a clarifier.

If actually is used properly, then I'm fine with it. The Flames goalie is Kipper. Actually, Kipper retired. If you said, "I saw this happen", I'm going to infer that you actually, personally and honestly saw it happen. Adding any of those words between I and saw doesn't change the meaning; it just adds more words.
I find honestly is used when bad news is coming. What do you think of this outfit? Honestly? No, lie to me. This conversation does not apply to marriages when the wife asks if something makes her look fat.

A big FU to TSN and TSNgo, CRTC and to Canadian TV in general
Because I am with Shaw, i can not watch the NCAA tournament online. You can only subscribe to TSNgo if you are with Bell and Rogers, Shaw hasn't signed up yet - neither has Telus. I can't watch on cbssports.com like i have been every other year probably because TSN fought it.
This sucks

^ That sums up the abysmal TV and telecom situation in Canada. Content providers are also cable companies, internet companies, and wireless companies. An oligopoly of vertical integration.

Use Hola Unblocker in the Chrome browser. It can trick the website you choose into believing you're in whatever country it needs. It's great for using Netflix or any country, using the BBC iPlayer you're in England, etc etc. It's been finicky with NHL Gamecenter lately though.
Totally agree with the rest of your post though. Movie Central/HBO released an App yesterday for Mobile devices.. not available on Shaw.

Having to pay for cable tv packages in bundles. How hard is it to offer individual channels for x amount each? I really only need 10 maybe 15 channels out of the almost 100 that I have to get due to bundling.

Shaw has it's own app where you can watch all the Movie Central and HBO stuff, FYI. Shaw Go, it works like a charm.

Shaw has a Movie Central App....
https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...a.moviecentral
Also available for iPhone. You need a Movie Central subscription though.
And actually, Shaw's came out first.

According to the CRTC, they are going to be relaxing guidlines regarding this. There is a minimum package requirement so you get a certain amount of Canadian content, but hopefully soon, you will be able to 'Pick and Pay' more channels.

And as an FYI, Shaw has a bunch of Apps for on the go viewing...
Global, YTV, and NFL Sunday Ticket all have apps just off the top of my head. Again, only if you subscribe.

People who lick their finger to flip through documents. Why do you finger lickers do this? What mental disorder causes this behavior. I have never once licked my finger to flip through a document stack, and I can flip through them just fine, and just as efficiently.
Especially shared documents. Do you not realize how gross this is. Maybe I should start rubbing the documents all over my sack.

People who knowingly and willingly perpetuate internet falsities and rumors RGMG!
Just had a friend on FB post an article about a woman who was rescued off a desert island, where she had been stranded for 7 yrs, because a kid in Minnesota spotted her on Google Earth. I posted a related Snopes link, and promptly received a PM from him.
Him: Why do you keep posting that #### on my links?!
Me: Because you keep posting bogus stories on your feed and act like they're real news stories
Him: How do you know that Snopes thing isn't bogus? You don't! So stop posting it!
Me: Well, they actually research the stories and provide relevant evidence either supporting or discounting the stories......unlike the links you posted
Him: Whatever, stop posting it or I'll block you
Had a similar thing happen a couple months back with another FB friend. He posted an "article" about people leaving HIV infected needles on the handles of gas station pumps. I posted a link showing it was an urban legend. He deleted his post and re-posted the same link. I posted my link again. He deleted his post and re-posted the link.......that went on a few times before he finally just un-friended me.

That's not really a CRTC issue.
CBS and the NCAA have sold the Canadian rights to TSN and they are the ones blocking the US stream outside the US to ensure that they maximize the revenue they generate from TSN. CBS gets no money from Canadians watching the US stream, so that's why CBS is blocking the stream outside the US.

Which is dumb because it's not like our brains say "these ads don't work on me because there is no national broadcasting agreement in place haha!"

You might as well say you hate narcissism. The only reason why someone would knowlingly repost untrue internet myths is to get 'likes' or 'retweets' to stoke their own egos.
