Superstore is the worst produce i have worked at a superstore distribution before and we use to accept moldy watermelons and green tomatoes plus rotten apples.from what my friend told me from working at a produce distribution Safeway has the best quality.

Why would they be on the phone in the first place? It can all be done online.

Safeway does have good quality produce. Worked there 3 years during high school, they were pretty strict on quality.
Costco for bulk and Safeway for the rest.

That's interesting - were these isolated incidents? We've never had any real issues with the produce we purchase through Superstore.

What grinds my gears is dislocating my shoulder for the 5th time playing hockey.
The last 3 times have been from very minor contact. I'm 2/5 in being able to pop it back in myself at least. I'll have to look down the surgery route now unfortunately.

This gg happens occasionally, as in this morning, and I don't know if it is due to atmospheric pressure or what, but sometimes my shower curtain seems to keep moving inwards and gets stuck to my legs, when I'm showering. drives me nuts, but only happens occasionally.

A really great book about how we assess risk is, surprisingly, called Risk by Dan Gardner. An excellent analysis and a good read.
It RGMG when people "argue" and then simply restate what the other person said.

Takes a couple of hours on a Saturday or Sunday. The wife and I don't mind spending a couple hours to get what we want and save money in the process.

They are all really close together actually. Not much gas at all.

As mentioned, we make a 2 hour trip to get stuff for the week and both enjoy it. Not a big deal really. Guess I could be sleeping in until 2 or something or sitting on my ass playing video games...who knows what I would do with that whole extra 2 hours?

Today's gear grinder: People who refer to any hour on the clock as "xx bells" (ie 9:00pm, it's 9 bells), without any regard to what ship's bells actually mean. Bells were originally used during the 4 hour watch system, sounding at half hour intervals. There are never more than 8 bells.
The saying "8 bells, time to go home" is acceptable, as its origin stems from the fact that 8 bells signifies the end of one's watch.

The seafarer curriculum in our schools is very sorely lacking. My son doesn't even know how to use a sextant.

For F^Cks sake people....
Take an extra 2 minutes and clear the snow off of your car.
A single wiper swipe isn't going to cut it.

Highway drivers who must think their brake pedal releases poison gas into the car. Why else would they make stupid, dangerous, ######ed unsafe lane changes and cut people off just so they won't lose five seconds of their precious time?
Selfish pricks.

Breakfast food.
Not in general, but in the sense that it will always be weird to have a steak and salad for breakfast or cereal for dinner. I don't believe in it! North American culture has created this idea of specific foods for specific times and I SAY NAY.

My Father in Law give my kids ice cream for breakfast everytime they stay at their place.
I don't support the ice cream (I am cool with grandparents doing it), but I often have left overs for breakfast, just like I often have "breakfast for dinner". Sausage, eggs and pancakes can be a great dinner, my kids love breakfast for dinner.

You tell 'em. I want waffles for every meal.
Actually this is fairly limiting, as it makes it more difficult for a creative cook to incorporate about 1/3 of the standard menu into their dinner concoctions. I.e., it's harder to incorporate a pancake into a standard dinner meal without throwing everyone off, even if it would totally work in the circumstances. I'm with Strombad.

^^ pancake = bread.
I have whipped up some pancakes because I didn't feel like getting a loaf of bread (the reason being we were going away and wouldn't be able to use up a full loaf of bread).
It actually works really well for pretty much anything you would use bread for. A little sweet, but you could adjust sugar levels to taste.
