If he goes abroad before becoming a Canadian citizen, isn't there a condition along the lines of him only being able to be outside of Canada for ~90 days out of a year during the citizenship process? If there is, he'd deffo violate that while playing abroad full-time.

Spurs sure do have an amazing ability to completely self destruct. They played a decent first half, but an absolutely ugly second half.

It's absolutely shocking that they're even close to a spot in Europe. They're mid-table quality.

Nice. It'll be great having him back.

Nicklas Bendtner everyone....
Quote:
Bendtner did not travel to Munich after being left out of Arsene Wenger's 18-man squad.
The Denmark international is accused of threatening the taxi driver before unbuttoning his trousers and rubbing his genitals against the car.
The driver is quoted by the newspaper as saying: "I've run with drunks and alcoholics in Copenhagen for more than 25 years, but I've never experienced anything like it."

Anelka has quit West Brom which comes as something of a surprise to West Brom...
Quote:
Former France international Nicolas Anelka has taken to Twitter to announce that he has left West Bromwich Albion with immediate effect - but the club have reacted angrily to the move and denied his contract has been cancelled.
The striker has revealed that West Brom set certain conditions on him being able to rejoin the squad, conditions which he feels he cannot accept.

No idea where to put this so sticking it here but Jebus, could Soccer ever learn loads from Rugby Union.
Just watched the Ireland/France game for the 6 nations title. France scores a try in the last minute to win the title. Awarded by the ref but he goes upstairs as unsure whether a pass is forward or not. Video evidence shows clearly forward and the ref overturns his OWN decision. Post match controversy averted, the correct winner of the game awarded and most importantly the reputation of the game intact.
Imagine the same scenario in soccer. Goal scored from a blatant offside position. Ref in his attempt to justify his decision and uphold his ego books or even sends off a protesting player who serves a subsequent suspension. Manager complains and is fined and banned also. Reputation of the game goes further down the drain. All based on human error that could be rectified with minimal impact to the flow of the game.
Not saying for all decisions but technology is there to determine on/offside. Might as well use it.

What technology is there? I don't think stopping the game for replays would be an option, it would disrupt the flow of the game too much.

Why not check the video right after a goal is scored from an offside position? Seems pretty straightforward.

I was thinking there was maybe something to help with the call during live action, rather then checking the video after. The problem with checking video is that you end up cancelling out several goals during the course of a season, but can't add any by correcting wrongly called offsides. There would be a lot of goals taken away on plays where a player was very narrowly off.
