I like the nick, different strokes for different folks.

Realistically, names tend to naturally take on a life of their through the players' demeanour or on-ice performance. Monahan is a good example, many of us had him pegged as a wide variety of tags, but Moneyhands seemed to come out of nowhere after he started scoring at a torrid clip to start the season, and now there's no denying it's an appropriate nickname at this stage.

So, yeah.... I like T-Spoon. Maybe once he plays a few games, he'll be Killer/Chopper or some other one we wouldn't have expected.

I may have worded that weirdly, but I was agreeing with you.

Your mental fortitude is not in question, T-Spoon is THE choice.

From what I have been hearing about / reading about Wotherspoon, he plays a lot like a poor man's Chris Butler right now.

Is that a bad or a good thing?

Yah, what does that mean? Means he kind does everything ok, but nothing really good and is constantly getting played out of position way to high in the line up but does so looking more homeless or for less money than Butler?

Randy Sportak ‏@SUNRandySportak 1m #Flames have used 1 of 4 post-deadline recalls (Hanowski). Wotherspoon is an emergency. MacDonald was summoned in time to not count.

Can see a lot of cooking related humor in Tylers future.

Where did you hear that?

Butler has been very solid this year also.

Pretty close.

Fairly underwhelming when you watch him play, not really physical, doesn't really stand out in any areas except has above average skating, prone to epic fails on occasion.

Not to sure about overall positioning though. Need more viewings.

That is just it. Butler does many things well but is not great at anything and makes the occasional bonehead play so he constantly gets criticized. Wotherspoon is very much the same in that regard, does alot well, but is great at nothing and makes the occasional bonehead play.

Bonehead plays once in a while is to be expected at the highest level of hockey. Even Brodie's made some cringe-worthy gaffes. Russell vs LA too. T-spoon has age on his side to correct those mistakes.

Will be curious to see if he can beat the Breen benchmark and play more than 5 minutes

I'm sure its brought up every year, but what is the point of the 4 recall limit?

So what are the chances that Baertschi is one of the other 3? Seems like a bit of a forgotten man these days.

Don't downplay it. Even the biggest Butler fan must admit he is pretty special in that regard.

His mistakes usually happen in the most spectacular fashion.

I wouldn't say he's a forgotten man.

Burke wants him to be playing good in all three zones. He really struggled to put up points when he first went down, but lately has been putting up very solid numbers.

I think there is a good chance we see him again late in the year.

Yeah I know, if an epic mistake happens I immediately check for #44 on the back of a Flames jersey in the replay...

Wotherspoon has the best +/- on the Heat roster. Would like to see that Billins kid, though, he's a better 1:1 for Wideman.

I think Baertschi will be back in all likelihood, give him a boost in confidence going into the AHL playoffs and offseason. He is apparently playing better in all three zones and has 3g, 3a in his last 4 games for the Heat.

As much as Sven has had his struggles this season, I'm still very confident he will be a good NHLer.
