they are 22nd in GPG. last year 24th. the year before 28th
they have been in the top half of the league - top HALF - once in the last 7 years
but all you ever hear is high flying Oilers!
absolutely boggles the mind

Watching NHL Revealed and boy did that Vancouver locker room look defeated and like they didn't give a ####.
I would not be surprised to see the Flames catch them at all.

I'm really starting to fear the Flames will pick out of the top 5 again. Much like last year the Predators have simply stopped winning games at the end of the season. They will pick top 5 as the Flames have an easy schedule to end the season with games against the Oilers, Sabres, Islanders, Canucks.

once a narrative about a team is built, it takes forever for it to alter. Look how many years the Flames "couldn't score" even though we were fine. Or how people still say our "cupboards are bare". Basically the media is just lazy.

Pretty big gap already and they did just get Rinne back. They've lost 3 in a row but the last two were against the Blues and Penguins. They've got the BJs, Senators and Sabres coming up... if they lose all of those then we can be concerned.

I think we're safely 5, there's a significant gap there with 7 points to Nashville. Nashville isn't good, but they're not shamefully bad like the Panthers, Oilers, Islanders and Sabres. I don't see us drafting any higher than 5 though.

Looks like Stempniak is playing with Sutter and Pyatt right now. Was hoping he could become Kunitz v.2 for Crosby, but looks like he'll have to work his way up to the top 2 lines.

Just watched a Bryzgalov interview in Minnesota and the first thing he said was that the practice session was a bit tough because of the higher pace.
Young players, low intensity practices - good combination?

Drawing pictures to try to explain everything to the monumental collection of dolts in Edmonton takes up a lot of practice time.

He was gold on that short handed goal against.
He is at the face off circle, with Shultz at the point. Puck goes into the opposite corner. With 2 teammates down low battling for the puck and smyth in front of the net, he drops below the friggin goal line on his side. Usless for a pass, useless for a shot. Just wtf.
Gagner of course loses the puck battle, and the easy 2 on 1 for the islanders.
