So I set my Telus PVR to record the channel 200 broadcast. A channel which as of last night, showed in the channel guide to be the Men's Gold Medal game.
I woke up this morning to the sound of someone shoveling the walk out in front of my townhouse. I then hear some addict outside talking to someone going on about how he's been sober for a week, and if he saw the hockey game. No no no! I immediately got out of bed and left my room so I wouldn't here him anymore. I turned off my phone so I wouldn't see any txts from people celebrating. I get to my couch and the stupid PVR channel listing now shows me as having recorded 2 hours...of General Hospital. FML, you've got to be ####ting me. At some point in the night, Telus decided to change their channel 200 listing from the Olympics to General f'ing Hospital. It actually was 2 hours of the pregame/game I recorded, but for some reason was labelled wrong.
Then the deadliest part of all began...trying to find somewhere to download/stream off the internet. By some miracle, I was able to find CBCs stream of the game. Luckily adblock turned off all the banners and pretty much kept the site bare other then the stream. It was a close call, but I was able to watch it without knowing the outcome.
I think next time I'll just wake up early. I gambled...and almost lost horribly. It honestly is nothing short of a miracle that I didn't find out the outcome beforehand.
