Not a problem, Canada are still favoured on Friday.
Don't use this game to predict the next game. Canada always gets up for big games.

every team Canada has played has just tried to play the trap and fluke out a win...US will actually come at them there will be more chances against but Canada is going to get quality looks, odd man rushes,

US was lucky to beat Russia who just got knocked out by Finland...I'm fine with the underdog role but the reality is this next game is evenly matched and the previous games mean NOTHING

I'm less concerned about the US now then I was before this game. I only caught the third, but they looked awesome, and a similar performance will translate to an easy win on Friday. That was total domination, they were just a little unlucky not to score much.

The ice should open a bit in the USA game. If there isn't 6 goalies out there 90% of the game we won't have to run our offense from the points.

Tell them you won't be attending work on Friday. Religious holiday.

Seriously. I don't understand how people just pull stuff out of their butts with hockey assertions, like no one else is going to notice.

Giroux creates on his own. If you put him on Crosby's wing, and they're worried about stopping Crosby, Giroux says "thank you" and does it himself.

This team has been managed questionably from the outset, from the selection process to the way the players have been deployed. It hasn't cost them so far because the talent gap between Canada and its opponents is, well, huge.

Meanwhile, for Friday, given how many of our opportunities are coming from the blue line, I wouldn't mind having a guy out there who can shoot it like PK can.

I can get away with watching/listening to the game at work and I'm still thinking I might stay home to watch it. So much better on the big screen than looking at a blurry stream on my phone.

I really don't like those white jerseys of ours. It looks like Team Petro-Canada on the ice

Wait, you didn't have a 3 hour meeting from 10-1 on Friday booked already?

After that I'm no longer amused and borderline gleeful at the downfall of the Ruskies. I feel bad for Ovie. Must be devastating, and deserves huge credit for being willing to talk about it.

Not an Ovie fan, but I tip my hat to him as he was the only one who met the press after the game.

I haven't read this thread but listening to a couple radio stations you would think we just lost gold to Zimbabwe.

I think we are just fine going into the semis. Mentally this team is battle tested. They had two scares against lesser opponents, and aside from the Russians I think that while the US looks good, they haven't seen much adversity.

A more north american game against a north american opponent bodes well for Canada.

And for the love of god stop talking about Crosby ( referring to the radio)

Looking forward to Friday

Huge credit to Latvia. They played a hell of a game.

And Glen Healy: Shut. The. Hell. Up.

Dont underestimate your opponents. Theres a lot to be said about a well designed and well executed game-plan by a team that was willing to buy in and play their guts out.

He has to talk about it and this is his only chance because after this he'll be sent to a Gulag in Siberia for his failure. Czar Putin is not amused.

^^^ Haha when was the pic of the Canada player jumping up taken?? That's funny.

I always like Ovi, tough loss for them, Finland has a pretty good team though, I'd say the best goalie in the tourney.

I agree with other posters regarding Giroux, shocked his wasn't name as the replacement for Stamkos, IMO he'd look nice on Crosby's wing.
