From what I saw it was Arland Bruce III not a Stampeder, if it was a Stamp Huff would have sent him packing, the players are afraid to do much tweeting outside of the usual because Huff and Petrie will come down on them like the mighty hammer of thor.

That Bruce tweet was offensive to the entire universe.

I suppose you would have to ask them. Why might a guy not want to change in a room full of women? I know its the macho thing to be like "I would be like a kid in a candy shop", but maybe, just maybe, it wouldn't be that comfortable?

Ahh I see. What was said? I'm surprised I don't see it posted in this thread.

But nope, let's worry about the locker room because we are macho men and gay guys shouldn't play sports.

But it's not a room full of women. That doesn't equate at all.

Alright, well throw one girl into a room full of guys. Say Hayley Wickenheiser comes to play for your hockey team....she is obvious a great hockey player and you would be happy to have her there. You can't foresee anyone being uncomfortable in that situation?

And his apology. What, no more gangsta speak?
Tuesday February 11, 2014 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
ARLAND BRUCE – Personal Statement of Apology
First, I would like to offer my deepest and sincerest apologies for any harm I have inflicted on University of Missouri defensive lineman, Michael Sam.
Michael Sam is someone’s son, someone’s brother and it is neither my business nor my right to comment on his sexual orientation. My comment on Instagram was inappropriate and disrespectful, and I apologize for the lack of discretion.
I apologize to fans, teammates, and everyone else who has worked with me, supported me and believed in me throughout my career. I not only respect the game of football, I respect everyone who plays it, and it was not my intent to negatively affect anyone, especially this young, up-and-coming football phenom.
I would welcome Michael Sam on my team any day, as I have no ill will towards anyone simply because they are gay. I have a brother-in-law and a half brother who are gay, both of whom I love and respect greatly.
To the Montreal Alouettes, the CFL/ CFLPA and the NFL/NFLPA – you are outstanding organizations that give many great men the opportunity to play this beautiful game. I have been very blessed to be a part of your organizations, and I am sincerely sorry for any adverse effects you have had to endure due to my actions.
Finally, I want to make it very clear that my thoughts and opinions are my own and do not reflect those of either organization or anyone who is associated with me.
###
Mark S. Gundry, owner of Mischief Sports, does not condone any comments made by Arland Bruce with regards to anyone’s sexual orientation, nor does Mischief Sports discriminate against race, gender or religion.

But Hayley is still a woman, this analogy still doesn't equate. I don't know where you are going with this.

How many times have you been in a public locker room, knowing that on average 10% of the population in there are gay? Wasn't so bad now, was it?

Not really a fair comparision.
Are you stripping naked when you use the urinal or "drop a Canuck"?

Only when I'm dressed in my spider man costume, I didn't think that one through very well when I designed it

Ok well playing hockey (or any sport) you've likely had at least a few gay teammates, closeted or not. So it only makes people uncomfortable when they know about it? Isn't that kind of the definition of homophobia?

I was just pointing out the comparision was not equal.
When using the bathroom in a public location you don't generally strip or have you junk hanging out.
I have had at least one player that I know of in my old rugby club that was gay. Sadly, he committed suicide.

Yip it is.
If I was taking part in this discusison during my early 20's my position was have been different. I wasn very homophobic. In fact when I was overseas in '93, a soldier from one of the platoons in my company was sent home because "he was gay" was that true who knows, was that the true reason he was sent home who knows. I do know that I applauded that decision. The 42 yr old version of him is digusted with the young me for applauding.

Really? You can't admit that mixing people of different sexualities or preferences getting naked and showering might make people uncomfortable? I have no idea why I'm wasting my time trying to have a rational discussion with you in that case.

I swear you guys are being purposefully obtuse. This isn't about me, because again, I don't care. Frankly I don't care much about nudity and don't care who sees me naked, but its not all about me!
Now that you bring that up though, it does make me wonder about public change rooms. I'll even give you an example and you tell me what you think. I took my children to swimming lessons at the local Y. One little boy in the class has a parent who is either a transvestite, or man who dresses "mostly" like a woman. I suppose its possible that this person is an incredibly ugly lady, but I would bet my life savings that this is not the case.
Anyway, the question is which change room should that person head into? Does "he" take his son into the boys change room? I mean it clearly doesn't matter to you guys, because "what do you think is going to happen?" and all those kinds of things, so forgive my ignorance for even asking, but I do wonder. Surely people can admit that this kind of thing might make them uncomfortable and it doesn't make them homophobic or discriminatory?

You understand that women ≠ gay men, right?
I am being purposefully obtuse to try and get you to stop using coded language. Real talk, why are you saying this uncomfortable to "some people". What is uncomfortable about that? Is it because those "some people" are homophobic? And if so, why are we catering to those people?
