Ontario, Albert and Quebec make up 73% of the athletes we send to the games. I am really proud that there are so many Albertan's there. Obviously, a lot has to do with the facilities being located here. It is also great for Quebec to pulling far above their weight.

I don't have a problem with Quebec winning medals for the whole of Canada. I am sure there are some athletes with separatist tendencies, but for the most part, I think these people want to be part of Canada and represent this country as a whole. Anyone that wants to be a part of Canada I welcome as brothers. Everyone I've seen win have been over the moon excited, and I've seen them interviewed on CBC and they seem like genuine Canadians.

Also, one other thing to consider is these Quebec athletes spend a lot of time in Alberta and other parts of the world competing. I think it is easy for them to understand how great it is to be Canadian.

Is there a list of where they train?

I suspect a large number of those athletes train in Calgary

Canada's Olympic House in Sochi has a beer fridge that only opens with a Canadian passport.

This too!

http://globalnews.ca/news/1141984/wa...ro-after-fall/

In true Olympic spirit, Canada’s head cross-country ski coach Justin Wadsworth rushed to help a Russian skier after the athlete crashed in the semi-final of the men’s freestyle sprint and broke one of his skis.

Cross-country skier Anton Gafarov tumbled on the course for the third time Tuesday as he was heading down the hill toward the finish line. With a new ski in hand, Wadsworth rushed toward the struggling athlete and fixed the new ski to Gafarov’s ski boot.

Palin said this about Russia:

It got skewed into that she can see Russia from her own house.

Perhaps liinked in other thread(s), but I don't see it here.

This is the Canadian coach helping the Russian skier who had a broken ski.

“I wanted him to have dignity as he crossed the finish line,” says Wadsworth after the fact.

Good on him.

FWIW, while he's a coach for the Canadian team I read somewhere that he's actually an American.
