It's going to grind a lot of people's gears that they didn't notice Springs 1 is back in the "Attractive server vs. good service" thread.

TV home reno shows (Sarah Richardson I'm looking at you) that make wives everywhere think you can just knock down interior walls or put windows into exterior walls anywhere you damn please.

If only these shows took some time to detail the expense and experts to properly restructure and move plumbing / electricity / HVAC involved (have I mentioned $$$?) instead of making it look as easy as hanging a picture....

Holmes does a decent job detailing what happens if it's done wrong...but SR's latest show skips the construction phase making it seems as easy as pie.

I had a good friend of mine because she watched some DIY shows thinks she knows everything about electrical and plumbing.

She knocked down a few walls and hit a pipe and bam water everywhere. She sure didn't know even know where the water shut off was.

They should ban those DIY shows from the general public. Makes them think it's easy to do everything and no thought needs to go into the process.

For some of these sports, it would be more accurate to say 40th or 50th out of the 2,500 people who have ever even tried the sport.

pfft, i will stand by mine.

It RGMG that people take this approach that 40th at the olympics is crappy. I know a guy that is in Sochi, and he has sacrificed tonnes to get there. If people don't think that they are tyring the damnest to get on the podium they are nuts.

40th at the olympics IS crappy. We don't give this same approach to the Oilers who continue to finish last every season. They may be the best in the world but against their competition they're not doing great if they're finishing 40th. They don't need participation ribbons.

The random people who watch these Olympic sports year round (all the World Cups and what not) and act all hipster-ish when people are getting excited for it at the Olympics.

"Oh yes, but his run at World Cup 2012 was so much better, blah blah blah"

The folks who moved in down the hall, who seem to think that it's cool to let their kids run up and down the halls, screaming.

I'm not great in the kitchen. The wife cooks most of the time when she's home.
Yesterday, I decided to cook rack of lamb for the first time ever.
It was awesome, and the kids gobbled it up too.
Luckily, my 2 year old escaped it, but starting late last night, my wife, son and I all became pretty ill and have been constantly sick since. Not fun at all
No more creative kitchen sessions for daddy, which may be a blessing in disguise

Short-term pain for long-term gain, dude. Nice work!

I did the same thing with laundry...shrunk a bunch of the family's clothes a few years ago. Haven't done laundry ever since.

On a similair note, a buddy of mine wanted his wife to drop a bit of weight, so he bought her a tonne of clothes for Christmas, all one size too small.

Another example of long term vision.
