Indeed, but there are many more goalies that have played than teams. So I'm going by the idea that 1-30 is starter territory and 31-60 is where most backup-caliber goalies would place.
I can say with confidence, there is not a single frame of Revenge of the Sith that's as interesting as this Episode 3.
EDIT: I'd also like to take a moment to mention that since I arbitrarily decided to start doing these following the Phoenix game, they haven't lost. Make of that what you will.
He must be playing better, because people are generally ignoring him instead of constantly complaining about him.
Generally unnoticeable is all I ask from a 3rd pairing D-man.
Agree completely. I was checking the stats for tonight and by ice time, it looks like Smid / Wideman were the 3rd pairing. That 3rd pairing was so unnoticeable that we still automatically think Butler is on the 3rd pairing
This team has holes and needs to improve, but you could do worse than Smid / Wideman as your 5/6.
Gutsy win and what a 2nd period, that was wild. That was an awesome game to watch and by far a much better result than the last time these 2 teams played in Calgary. It's rare to see 4 goalies play in the same game.
Yes their is only 30 . 2 goalies a team some have 3rds that appear often . In this case we will say just 2 goalies a team. So if 30 teams have 2 goalies a price that would be 60 in the league . 30 starters 30 backups. If Ramo is in the top 30 it means he's posting stater numbers. So hence he is like the o.p. stated " a starter". Math is fun sometimes.
If, in a couple of years our 3rd line is Bouma-Stajan-Jones I think I'm ok with that. Thought they had a great game and are really starting to find their role/game. Really love Bouma, have since he played junior here.
Team is skating again. Good things happen when they skate. I really want to see Hartley get another year or even two with this rebuild, I agree whole heartedly with what Burke had to say about Hartley. Doing a fine job.
Very entertaining game. I would love to get to see more Calgary-Chicago games, as they always seem to be high-speed, and the Flames usually bring their A-game. Maybe take away a few Anaheim or Phoenix games...
Loved the games from the Stajan line (Bouma, especially), Backlund, and even the 4th line didn't look horrible. Gio and Brodie were absolutely buried with d-zone time against Chicago's best, some of the best in the league, and performed admirably. Both getting in on the offense was equally admirable. Giordano breaking up the play and starting an odd-man rush shorthanded, Backlund/Stempniak's give and go, and TJB's wraparound were the plays of the game for me.
Can we just stop with winning games, it is not helping our draft position and the Oilers will never catch us if we keep earning points.
Seriously it is great to see this much effort from a team that knew coming in that it was going to be a tough season. Backlund is really developing well and appears to be taking that next step to being a really good player for the flames. I love how the D is not afraid to jump into the play, the game winner was another great example, I suppose it helps that we have a few rushing D men (Brodie, Russel, Gio maybe even Butler at a push).
There is stil a long way to go with this rebuild but games like tonight make it that much more bearable.
