Hopefully the Hawks will go into Vancouver tomorrow night just pissed that they lost to the Flames and take it out on those dirty diving ######bags.

Agreed, he's been playing much better of late and ALMOST earning his 4mil a year.

From interviews I've heard it sounds like Hartley has been doing his best to drill this into D,Jones' head. If he skates hard than hes a great power forward with enough skill to make plays and finish. That's a player the flames desperately need throughout this rebuild.

Also need to give an honourable mention to Cap'n Gio extending his point streak to 7 games, and to Stempniak who I think may be the streakiest player in the history of the NHL. The guy had 18 goals in 18 games for Phoenix, but he can also be super invisible and make any goalie look like a Vezina nominee at times.

His last two have been good. That's the Jones we need to see. Great on the forecheck

He was definitely "Fred and Barney" tonight.

To continue with the Berra conversation. We only have about 30 games left this year. I personally think we need to give Berra at least 8-10 more starts before we have to decide whether to re-sign him for another year. I think he has enough talent that it's worth giving him a chance to work on his positioning but the coaches see more than we do so I trust they will make the correct decision.

Most important highlight of the game:

Monahan got a freakin' assist.

(the Backlund pair was pretty sweet too)

Backlund will be the captain if Giordano is ever traded. That is all. Very satisfying win tonight.

With our current line-up, without 2 of our top offensive weapons (debatable), we should be getting slaughtered. Hartley's has done a phenomenal job with this group, and I hope the new GM doesn't come in and immediately axe Hartley so he can bring in "his guy". You can just feel the difference between us and Edmonton. Yes, we're only 1 spot ahead in the standings but it's obvious that no one gets a free handouts and everyone has had to earn their spot. It sucks Sven didn't stick for the season, but you have to deserve your spot, and Monahan, Backlund, Brodie and Russell have flourished under Hartley. We have a tight knit group that plays hard almost every night vs. kids who have been anointed the next dynasty before they've earned jack#### and run around with a sense of entitlement. Loving the character of this team.

Didn't see it while watching, but Backlund's kick pass to stempniak on his first goal was a thing of beauty

Now if we can just replace Butler, Galiardi, Stempniak, Jones, Glencross, and Berra with better players...rebuild near complete.

Most entertaining game I've seen this year. No way we're going to sink lower than Buffalo but that's Ok. Hartley deserves coach of the year. What a blood and guts team man.

Now that was a fun game to watch. Back-and-forth the whole game, exciting the whole way through. If only a were lucky to get that every night. I'll take it when I can get it though. Guys really stepped up tonight and were rewarded. Nice to see and good on them. Backlund, Bouma, Stajan, Jones looked on tonight and even Galiardi and Butler looked decent.
