That brings me to the thread. I'd love to ban "outraged" hockey fans. You know, the ones that think they know better.
Because it is a sure sign that that person is a dbag.

The Dodge Squad. Actually, now that I think about it, the Dodge Squad cad drive away in those cars and trucks on the already crowded concourse and never come back.

This actually applies to all sport in general, the use of the word "brash" to describe someone who is actually just immature and often acting out.

Years ago when the radio-canada announcers were on strike they still aired Montreal games. No announcers, they just turned the rink mics up and had the regular cameras follow the game. It was awesome.

- "Putyourhandsupintheair. Putyourhandsup. In. The. Air." x 1,000,000
- Techno/electronic music of any kind at hockey games.
- Canucks fans in general, but more importantly their unending victim complex.
- Jim Hughson.
- Players only answering to the media when they feel like it, especially after losses. This is more of a Heat thing, but it drives me crazy. If you played like ####, then man up. We're helping you prep for the NHL's media. Be a grown man and do a post-game presser even you lost 9-0.
- Mike Milbury.
- Terrible hockey nicknames. For example, cut the name in half, add an "s" or simply add an "sy". Be frickin' creative for once! Like Bone Marrow Muncher, Face Beater, Falcon Dragon, Bat Lord or Death Rectum.

I still don't get why you'd care. If anything, it would point out the dbags.

For instance, I went to a game in Calgary when the Oilers were in town. I wore a Canucks tshirt. I certainly didn't want to be mistaken as a Flames or Oiler fan. If that makes me a ###### then so be it. Perhaps I just lack anger for people I've never met. Or maybe both.

For me
  • Hitting from behind
  • Hybrid icing, just go to no touch already
  • the Jets
  • the Canucks
  • the Oilers
  • The mindset that losing is acceptable
  • diving
  • shootouts
  • Kent Wilson
  • Glen Healy
  • Ray Ferraro
  • outdoor games
  • all-star games
  • ragging on players because it's 'cool'

There are several things in that anecdote that make you a dbag. Not surprising at all that you are a canucks fan lol.

This way, every game is worth the same amount of points. The common argument I've heard against this, is that it will be too hard to compare stats from now against the 50s. I don't think comparative stats should have any relevance to what is best for the current game. There used to be only six teams. Games used to end in ties. There are changes all the time in the game, and I hope this is one of the next ones.As long as some games are worth 2 points and others are worth 3 points, there is something wrong with the system. There have been 198 loser points given out so far this year. Currently, only 6 teams have 51 points or fewer. That means 24 teams (80%) of the teams have more points if only two points were awarded per game.
I don't want to detail this thread, but changing the point system does little to the standings, and in effect does nothing for the playoffs cutoff. In the end, the loser point adds excitement to the end of the year for the fans as it essentially bunches teams near the playoff cutoff line and makes for closer races. I can't see why they would change that

Well, maybe alternatively, the best for all sides involved would be to return to a system of no OT with no points awarded in the case of a tie in regular season play. I could see this making the games more fun and intense from a fan point of view.
I don't think anybody really appreciates the lackluster performance in the last 5 minutes of a tie game where both teams have decided to be content with at least a single point instead of really trying to pull off a win.

This phrase and "target on his/her back" are extremely common in all the reality shows that have come up in the last 15 years. That's where I hear it the most, if I were to think about it.

I will like to add fans complaining about the effort of a team everytime they are dominated. Sometimes the other team is just that much better.

1) The inordinate amount of time panels and pundits spend talking about the leafs, and the constant overvaluation by the media of any player who puts on the blue and white sweater.

2) Arena subsidies for billionaire owners

3) lockouts

Always found it interesting that it is most often canucks and Rider fans who insist on wearing their teams jerseys to other games.

Also the two worst fan bases. Hmm.
