Some really nice things to like about this game:
Russel and Brodie looking great bringing the puck out of the zone and the way Brodie is jumping up into the play at the right times is great to watch.
Loved Backlunds emotion when he tipped that goal, he really is firing and turning into a great player for this team.
Hudlers goal in the shoot out was good but Monahan just made his look so easy and left Dubynk out to dry, nice goal.
Just wow on the final Berra save. Knew he had been left for dead but lifted the leg just enough to get the puck and make the save, a thing of beauty.
You have to love glimpses of a good hockey team now and again, something that makes the pain of the rebuild worth it. I know a lot of these players may not be here at the end of it but they are working hard most nights and doing us proud.
God I hate how the Oilers are doing worse than us.

I love how the oilers are trying to be better than us and are so much worse than us!

Man, watching the first two periods was hard work. There seemed to be zero energy at all in the Dome. It was good to see the guys come out with some pride in the third and it looked like it was their efforts alone that brought the crowd into the game.
Give me this strength of character over the number 1 draft pick every single day.

if they take away the "A" from Backlund when Glencross comes back, I'll be seriously pissed.

While Backs deserves it, you can't just take letters away like that. On the flip side, if you let him keep it we take a step closer to oilerville

Brought my son to the game last night. Had a blast because he is finally "into" watching the game.
He's 4, so rather than dragging on his bed time, we left with 10 minutes left and down by 2. Got to the car in time to catch OT, and then hear the shootout. Sounds like, for this season, we missed out on the best ending possible. Ugh

Yeah, they "lost" my order and I had to call and see wtf was going on. Long story, and even after we clarified over the phone, it still took another 2 weeks to get here. Pretty brutal service, especially for the price they're asking.

You have to give it back to Glencross.
However, you tell Backlund that he's next in line (and there is a pretty good chance that Cammy gets moved in a month)

So if we take it away from a floater and give it to a hard worker, we'd be the Oilers?

Glencross is the alternate captain. They will not strip him of it. Period. There is no amount of whining, crying, bitching, moaning or ad hominem attacks on the guy that will change that.
Returning the letter to him when he is healthy will not make Backlund a lesser player, nor does it imply the team thinks less of him.

Assuming Cammalleri gets traded, I bet they have Stajan and Backlund rotate the A after Glencross returns.

Berra-cade! What a great save.
Games like that are why we can be so low in the standings and still have fun watching our team play.
There really is hope here. Sure it's 2-4 years away and there will be lows (thankfully, not Lowe's), this can be a fun process when you can at least see the movement going in the right direction.
I think a lot of us fans could really enjoy this rebuild process.
This team, on a night like last night, is fun to watch.

I am shocked Nystrom wasnt in the shootout. The guy had 4 goals. Poor coaching. Good for us though!

I can understand not putting him in the shootout, especially since it only went 4 rounds and most teams have their set 3 or 4 guys who always go first.
What surprised me is that he didn't get any ice time in OT.

I love that this team seems to be competent in shootouts for once.
