Going along the lines of the licking of fingers before changing pages or counting money, what about licking the tip of a pencil , some older guy did this today in front of me.

The Canadian Dollar dropping like a tank grinds my gears. I hope Calgary won't lose any direct flights to the US over time because of this.

Double edged sword since lower $US means more money in our pockets to buy those expensive CAD tickets.

I must be one of the few Canadians happy about this. I make 90-95% of my income in USD, but all my big expenses are in CAD. That 10% extra will come in handy.

Yah this sucks. Almost all of our vendors are from the US, so it's going to cost us more to buy. In the end, the consumer will be paying more.

customer: we need you set up a logo for embroidery
me: no problem, fire me over vector art
customer: no problem... done. i just emailed it to you.
me: i just imported your 'vector' art into some graphic software - it's not vector art
customer: yes it is. i sent you an eps file - that's vector art
me: you are wrong. you took a crappy/grainy jpg and exported it using software as an eps file. this does not magically make it vector art. it's still a crappy grainy jpg
customer: but it's an eps file.... that's vector art

People that have "protected" Twitter profiles. What's the point? You're doing it wrong!

Also means more US based businesses losing some of their revenue and lookin for ways to recoup it (raising prices).

We got screwed over pretty hard as consumers with the last price adjustment (heck, car prices are still out of whack compared to our American friends).

Ahh yes the ol' bitmap in a vector file trick. I've seen it many times. Although still not as frustrating as the "here's a photocopy/scan/photo of our logo" manoeuvre. Or the "logo" in a word document trick.

This one might just be me, but I heard it again this morning and it still rankles: When people call hard drive storage "memory". I understand why that seems logical, but to me, memory will always be RAM or ROM, and using that "memory" to refer to hard drives, CDs, DVDs, usb keys, etc. just feels so wrong.

I wish my customers were that sophisticated. I've had a guy scan in his business card so I could get his logo to blow up onto a 4' x 4' banner. What can I possibly reply that doesn't begin with "Since you're ######ed..."?

I hate when clients refer to their computers as hard drives.

Lol no one. But I have a couple followers that have protected profiles. Just seems to defeat the purpose of Twitter. Ie: 140 characters or less of public thought or statement.

If you want your stuff to be protected and only seen by a certain community or people, then start a blog with a login or registration needed.

I guess it just defeats the purpose of how you use Twitter. If other people have found other ways of using Twitter other than public communication, why is that an issue.

One of my Twitter accounts is private. We use these accounts at work for change management. For example "I just applied updates to server X."

Not so much an issue, as I've always thought of Twitter as a public sounding board for whatever people need be.

I do see your point. I can see the application that way.
