With all the negative press Seguin seems to get with the issues in Boston, I thought the below quote by him on not making Team Canada showed a lot of maturity.

While Gonchar might be too old, Seguin might be too young. The 21-year-old center simply fell short of a very lofty bar. Team Canada is loaded, and GM Steve Yzerman had some difficult decisions to make.

“I have so much respect for Mr. Yzerman, and if he doesn’t think I’m ready right now, then I definitely respect that,” Seguin said.

He added that he’ll be ready, but he won’t hope for injury.

“I would definitely go, 100 percent,” he said. “But as much as I want to be on that team, I’m not wishing injury on anybody. Those guys earned their places, so I hope they all get to play.”

I got Boyes (had him in my hockey pool that year) and Gionta quick enough, Bertuzzi took me awhile. It was the damn Tampa Bay that cost me 10/10. Why didn't they except St. Louis? I tried St. Louis, St.Louis, St Louis, and StLouis before deciding it wasn't him and spending the next couple minutes before giving up.

For Giordano, you would imagine it depends on what defenseman got hurt. I guess going with 5 lefties isn't the end of the world but if Keith's partner is the one who got hurt it would make more sense to bring Seabrook in my opinion.

I don't feel he was a lock. I thought Thornton and St. Louis were locks because of Marleau and Stamkos (Why even have Marleau if you're not going to have Thornton?)

Sharp is a great utility player that can do anything in any situation, but why bring a multitool when you got better tools for each individual job? Saw and power drill or knife with built in screwdriver?

I'm not pissing on Sharp, and I definitely would take him over Carter, Nash and Marleau (without Thornton), but I wouldn't quite call him a lock. Almost, but not quite

He was a lock. You ARE aware he's a perennial 30 goal scorer who is both top 10 in points and tied for 2nd in goals with Crosby right now, yes?

That, plus the chemistry angle they played with a lot of the forwards, of which his chemistry with Toews in undeniably advantageous.

If you think he's just a utility player, you don't watch Patrick Sharp. That's not a fault on you, but I'm telling you he was an absolute lock.

In a pre-season interview this year, he said that he had been focussing TOO much on worrying about what everyone else was doing, and this year he was going to ensure he was helping the team by scoring more. He's now on pace for more than 40 goals. Utility players don't just turn into guys who can pot 40 on desire alone, but that's what he's done.

Marleau and Thornton have not played on the same line full time since the 11/12 season.

Marleau has been Couture's winger for the last couple seasons.

It was a no brainer to have Crosby as Captain but of course some whiners will try to make up some BS reason why it is the wrong move.
