I think its super classless that some of our fans are accusing Alberts of diving. We still don't know much about the brain and how it reacts to different types of trauma. You don't have to be unconscious to have your bell rung severely. And it doesn't take much force either since previous concussions can really amplify the severity of impact (see the Lindros brothers, Sidney Crosby, etc.).

Alberts missed 47 games due to this hit back in 2007:

Agree with the above. Pretty obvious now that it wasn't a fake injury. I mean, I guess you could argue he gave himself the concussion from diving vs being hit, but that's a pretty insane homer view of the world, even if it is the Canucks. It's McGrattan after all, not exactly the same as being hit by Yakupov. Gonna rattle #### around a lot. I also agree with the sentiment that it's not a punishable hit. I don't even think he should have been penalized, but that one is hard to get right on the ice since at speed it does kinda look like an elbow, even though it's clearly not an unclean hit after reviewing at slow speed.

####ty situation and hopefully Alberts isn't too injured. Concussions are scary knowing what we do now.

My apologies if any of my comments came across as classless. The guys injured, hope he has a speedy recovery.

With McGrattan in the lineup for tomorrow they would have heard by now if there was going to be a hearing. Looks like no suspension

Personally, its a border line hit, but there was no intent to injure, at least it didnt look like it. The hit was not high, but the follow through with his arms was, but the main point of contact is not Alberta head. I doubt he gets suspended for that hit.

When players get hurt from hits, they don't always deserve to be suspended. Him being kicked out the game is probably the right call though, because it happened so fast, it probably looked a lot worse live. Slow motion and replays show it was no AS bad. Anyways that my take on the hit.

Fair outcome. It was just a nothing play that ended badly.

Should not have been a penalty. Feet on the ground, shoulder down, clean hit. He spun and maybe tweaked his nose with the right hand but that was minor incidental contact.

Amazing the number of people here who have issues with the hit.

I can see a penalty, Grats' arms do come up so a roughing wouldn't have been out of the question. Game misconduct was a bit of a stretch, but the refs have to make that call immediately after seeing it at full speed, can't get 'em all right. Suspension would have been too much, I'm glad there won't be one

Review of all incidents involving injuries is automatic. Safe to say we can move on.

Personally wouldn't mind if all these clowns calling it a dive and saying he injured himself by falling etc. were banned. Not that I have a say. but I sure wouldn't mind.

What the hell would they be banned for? Not believing a guy is injured?

Most of the guys your talking about are long term contributors who do a lot of good things on the forum. Personally I took to heart some of the comments about the sensitivity of my points of view and apologized. There have been times when I have stood up for posters or mods when I have thought they were targeted unfairly. If that's not enough for you as to my contribution there's not much else I can say. However, banning a bunch of people who had a different take or saw things differently doesn't seem like good form.

The guys injured it doesn't really matter how he injured himself, head injuries can be serious "as ^pointed by another poster. I thought my own opinion was poor tact and insensitive however not everyone is going to have the same opinion.

With McGrattan in the lineup tonight, it's safe to say he would have heard by now if anything was going to happen.

Canucks have a proven history of diving, it's not completely ludicrous to think it'd happen again. Unless you're a 'nucks fan, then it's "That only happened a few times in 2011! I swear!"

That makes absolutely no sense. Should all the people who said McGrattan should/would be suspended be banned as well?

It was a clean hit, Alberts got caught funny and went down like a sack of laundry.

Some people said it was a blatant dive, others said Grats would definitely be suspended. Why? Because both of those things are historically accurate in similar situations. Both just so happened to be wrong.

Thank god nobody running this places shares the same views as you. Banned for being wrong? Yikes.
